  1. Hi there and welcome ! I started reading the posts before I was banded 10/12/11 and it has been so helpful and inspiring. Congratulations on your weight loss! I go for my first fill on Friday. I started the journey at 237, was 225 day of surgery. Today I was 213.6 . I'm curious as to how I'm going to feel after my fill. I'll keep you posted. Arlene

    So discouraged

I think your last statement said it all Mzclassy. You said " I don't know what I'm doing wrong besides eating". Are you eating the wrong foods? As you likely have read many times, the band is just a tool. To be successful, you have to work on the mind shift, away from the problem foods, like pizza and saltiness. Maybe you are eating healthy food and i misunderstood. But if not, take a look at your daily intake and see if it can be tweaked at all. Good luck !
  3. Thanks for that info. Makes sense. But 1-2 lbs a week is awesome too . Good for you!

    Hungry at night

This may sound lame to someone who has a real night time eating habit, but I find that a hot cup of tea at night kind of settles me. I just bought some sugar free hot cocoa to try too. Good luck!
  5. I am 3 1/2 weeks banded. I was advanced to solids last wednesday. I've been doing well, eating small amounts and all that. Well today my husband and I had a 2 hour drive to a memorial service. So I got a veggie flatbread sandwich from dunkin donuts. I ate it slowly and it seemed to settle ok. But about an hour later, the pain in my shoulder came back. It's been gone for almost two weeks. And I felt like my band was tight. Was this a stuck or sort of stuck episode? When we got to the memorial, I walked around for a bit, ate minimally and finally felt better, but it took hours. I was thinking that maybe it was because I sat in the car after eating and couldn't move around. Any thiughts? Advice? It kind of bummed me out coz I thought I was doing really well. My first fill is the 11 th. Thanks !
  6. The other thing I have found is that I digest much better if I get up after eating and walk around a few minutes, even just loading the dishwasher for a few minutes. No more long restaurant meals in my future. Ofcourse, thats partly what got me to needing WLS.! This is a huge life style change. I am so happy that I have this band to help me.
  7. Thanks Rosiecakes! Great name by the way. So do you think my surgeon will give me a fill on Friday if I am losing consistently?

    My first fill!

I was banded one month ago today, no fluid in band. I go Friday for my first fill. I've been losing consistently by being very careful what I eat, and how much. Even though I have non fill yet, I get uncomfortable if I eat too much.

    BAND TOO TIGHT??

Who would band these two nut cases when they were normal weight ? Unless they were self pay, so they didn't have to go through the pre op psych eval and nutrition eval. Still, it's highly unethical. I don't think I would want to go to a practice like that. It's a strange and disturbing story.

    Lap Band Surgery Day Stories

Welcome to band land ! How did it go?
  11. Lol. I was at a memorial service a few days ago. After, there was a beautiful buffet with an open bar. Obviously, I wasn't drinking. I'm only one month banded. But then I observed everyone ( mostly my husband 's guy friends) chowing on massive amounts of food. And I would have been eating everything in site too, if not for my band. It was an eye opener!

    Happy Bandiversary to me

And you are an inspiration Dibley!
  13. Thanks so much for all the great advice. You fellow lapbanders are the best!
  14. I was banded on October 12th and have lost 23 pounds , including 10 lbs during pre op liquids starting 9/28.
  15. Awesome! And you won't find it!
  16. I have a question Floridays. Why has your weight loss slowed if you are in the green zone? I have no fills yet, first one is the 11th. So I am just curious about the process. And congrats on your fabulous weight loss! I love this forum. It's so inspiring!
  17. I do the same thing Rosie. I take my vitamins at different times of day too. Just to not overload the pouch. I need to get breakfast in there!
  18. Have not had any trouble with my giant vitamins from the beginning.
