Me in 2006 -
Oh also....I have never had pain from drinking any kind of alcohol. Fuzzy drinks will give me gas and make we wanna burp and feel full, but I usually drink a bloody Mary or Vodka OJ.

So here is the deal with me and Alcohol. I am a drinker...period. Not an abuser but as you it is very cultural for me also. I can pretty much drink as I did before except at way lower amounts/drinks/shots...I am now a size 6. Before surgery I could drink several drinks..or a whole bottle for that matter....NOT NOW! I only drink on the weekends..usually only one night fri or sat. Sometimes I can drink 2 drinks in a couple hours sometimes 3 or 4......pretty much not more than that or I end up dancing on tables! I have also never gotten dumping from the alcohol either...so that is a plus. Now that being said since I have had surg have I over drank...yes I have, oops my bad, but I am human .....so watch at the beginning.....over doing comes very fast now. Also I did not start drinking again till I was 3 months post op..which was New Years Eve. FYI i am not a judge to anyone......... so many people seem to think that's ok.....FYI...it's not!

Where did you have you surgeries?
luvinitcuzican replied to searching's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I went to Dr Aveves in Mexicali Mexico..I had my surg done on September 25 2010.. I am down 160 or so lbs. I was a size 24W 4X, now I am a size 6 or 7 Small! My price for surg was 8750 all inclusive except airfare. When I did research here I found that Dr Aceves had done several several hundred more sleeves than anyone in the PNW. The hospital was also the most cleanest I have ever seen in my life..not to mention my husband LOVED the hospital food...lol -
So here it is...almost one year anniversary date and I am below my target weight and so happy I chose to do this. My life forever is change, I feel amazing, have had no complications and feel bad when people tell me good job! i tell people that I really didn't have to work at all........I am also posting some pics here of me before and after so the world can see! FYI..top photo...size 24...bottom photo size 6 If you are thinking of this procedure...take a look at me...I am living proof how amazing it is and how it will change your life...forever! Lydia

I am almost 1 year out on September 25.....when we flew down to San Diego for Surgery we sat in first class and I couldn't even buckle my seat belt....last weekend we flew to LA and upgraded to first class again and 2 of me could have sat in the seat and my seat belt had massive ....i mean massive extra length! Wow the difference a year makes This is something that I USED to dread...getting on an airplane........now every time I get on one.......it reminds me of how different my life is now. To have the fear gone is an amazing feeling! On a side note.....I never once broke a chair at my heaviest which was 289 lbs......the other weekend we went to Denny's with some friends and at a whopping 128 lbs...I busted my first chair......lol lol lol.....ironic....don't ya think? Can hardly eat a thing
luvinitcuzican replied to Tera's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have always and still do have massive restriction. I am 12 months in a few days. I mostly only eat protein still because of this. I still can not eat breads, rice, pasta...ie carbs. I am 2 lbs below goal and I am still loosing weight , but I am 5'4 and 128 lbs...I really don't have any more to loose. This does worry me and especially my hubby. Now some days are better than others, the other day I actually got in about 1000 calories (1st time since sleeve)....which is alot for me...my average is 600-800. I was sleeved at the smallest guide. I much rather work to get calories in than the other way around....trust me! I know when I here people on the board say how much they can eat it blows my mind.... I can eat only 2-3 small bites at one time, which takes me about 15 minutes and I chew it to a liquid consistency. This way of eating is not fun in any way......I dread eating food now. I eat for nourishment PERIOD....not any other reason. Lydia -

On an Airplane
luvinitcuzican replied to luvinitcuzican's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Oh I can remember very clearly that I could not sit in most booths....only chairs. My husband said the other day when we were at a place where we used to eat how we couldn't sit there before....and now 2 of me could fit in one spot.........It still blows my mind. When I broke the chair at Denny's I was so embarrassed.. I could only image how I would have felt at my heaviest at 289! Lydia -

Thanks so much all...... I have beenout enjoying life and loving it! Lydia -
So I am out 14 weeks. I have had some challenges with hydration and eating. I am loosing pretty steady at least 4, max 10 lbs a week. I have no regrets and am so happy! The first 3 months were very hard for me, but every day gets easier. I am now having slight weight obsessions, if it continues I will need to see a counselor. Here are my pics The first was few days ago, the second was right before surgeory the 3rd was beginning of november and the last was 4 weeks out.

Smoking---Yikes!!!
luvinitcuzican replied to GinaBeana's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I stopped smoking for my surg and for a few weeks after but I started up again. I am dealing with one thing at a time right now....and that one thing is weight loss. I will tackle that goal once I have reached my goal weight. When I do it will be CHantix. You can go to Pizers webiste and they apply for assistance if insurance doest cover it. I got it last time for 90 for a month supply which in the long run even with smoking is cheap....
