I've been overweight over 30 yrs, tried numerous diets, and the most I've lost, is 40#. Never able to keep it off. I'm 53, diabetic, have high blood pressure and cholesterol, and my knees have started bothering more and more. At the first of the year, I decided I was not going to go through another year of failed New Year Resolutions, and that I was going to actually do something about my weight this year.
Made it to a seminar, a week later to the Dr. for a consult, then started the battery of tests/appts necessary for insurance to cover. Felt like I'd never get done but the year has flown. I had surgery 6-27-11, and so far have kept 17 off.
The hardest part for me has been remembering to NOT drink with my meals. Old habits die hard....but I'm working on it.
