It is hard when family is not co operating. Just remember, you did this for yourself and no one else - not even your wife. Stick to the plan your dr. gave you and you will have the last laugh in the end because you will be healthy and fit despite their attitudes

I was on my pre op diet during our Canadian Thanksgiving and felt the same as you!

I would probably wait at least 6 weeks to make sure your body has totally healed. I am a little nervous about getting back on my horse for fear of falling off and doing something to my band which is why I am waiting until the spring to ride.

I am starting back to the gym next week - 6 wks out.

Lap Band At 20 Days
kyrasgrandma replied to Krystle Austin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Did you take your measurements when you started? I havent lost any weight for a while but I have definitely lost inches. As long as the inches are coming off, I am not concerned about the weight. -
Listen to what Jean says. She is the voice of experience. Call your doctor and tell him everything.

When Will I Notice Something? When Did You, And What Was It?
kyrasgrandma replied to barb rah's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well, your first nsv is that you got the band! My stomach was swollen for a few weeks. I measured the other day and found I had lost 3 inches off my waist. Same thing will probably happen to you. Be patient. You are still healing. I have lost 11 lbs since surgery I a think I am doing great -

kyrasgrandma replied to Banderina's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had 4cc put in my band during surgery. I have a 10 cc band. My fills are free if I go to my surgeons office. Its part of cost of the surgery. -
I have always said I am vertically challenged and am too short for my weight...lol

Hey fellow Banded B I honestly dont think you need therapy. You are one the most sensible, optimistic people on this board. Your head just needs time to catch up to your body. From the research I have done it is quite normal to feel like this.
-
Congrats on your choice of the lapband. All the emotions you are feeling are absolutely normal and in my case they intensified as I got closer to surgery date. I am convinced it is the best thing I could have done for myself!
-
I think you should contact your surgeon because you are not supposed to be vomiting when you eat. Let us know how you make out.
-
I am not far enough along to let you know how I would feel but right now when I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror or a store window I see a very fat person even though I have lost 34 lbs. I also cannot get it through my head that I am 4 sizes smaller than I was at Christmas.
-
Awesome news! You are rocking your band!!

I think we have all been there. Anxiety, nervousness, fear is all part of the process. I was scared right up to the time the surgeon came in to talk to me just before my surgery. He said everything would be good and it was! Just think how much better your life is going to be after surgery. Sending you lots of hugs.
