I have worked for the past 15 years for our local Sheriff's Office as a Communication Specialist/E911 operator/Jailer Lots of titles but its never the same 2 days in a row

I think she has a right to keep it to herself if she wants, but "if" she had weight loss surgery she should have told that in her book. She never will admit it now as she would then be labeled a fraud. Personally I have only 2 very close friends and my immediate family who know about my surgery. I didn't want people looking at me and watching my progress.

I would also like to know: Did you have pain or what? that caused the Dr to check for erosion? Would taking the Fluid out have worked? When removed did you have actual holes in your stomach to be sewed up from where the band sat:confused: ?

I see there is a list of August banders Wondering who else will be October? Mine is October 6:)

If You Loose You Hair, Will It Grow Back.
IaLadybug replied to adoorme9's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Sounds like some of you are lucky!! For me, my hair loss did not come back. I have been banded for over a year, hair loss ended last spring, but nothing new coming in. Even using Nioxin shampoo, along with the scalp treatments they sell. I ended up cutting it really short, I now have a skinny face so it looks great -
What brands of protien powder are best I've tried a couple - not the best!

You might keep a log of what you are eating. Are you eating your Protein 1st? then your vegs? Diet does count, eating a high calorie diet doesn't work you can eat alot of soft cakes and pies and not loose a thing Marie 10/06/2003 247/194/?

I asked a gal in group about her choosing the RNY over the lapband and she said its because you don't have to keep going back to your surgeon every few months for the rest of your life she was probably about 250 also

On our local news last night they reported that 2 ladies had died having RNY this past week in Des Moines at the same hospital. My understanding both surgeons had done the proceedure many times. Sure glad I chose the lap band

Your presurgery testing was alot different than mine!! I went to the hospital about a week before surgery They drew blood to type in case something goes wrong, took my blood pressure, temp ekg talked w/anatheselogy (that doesn't look right but too early in the am to find the dictionary) and went home

My husband and I were at the hospital at 0630 on Monday, my Dr has you stay overnight so home Tuesday about 2 p.m. I had to be one of the people who has alot of shoulder pressure from gas, scale of 1-10 right at the 10 level, almost couldn't breath! Still having a little problem with it but not bad this morning. Otherwise everything seems to be going great!! No problem swallowing the liquid for the test to be sure my stomach wasn't swollen shut, she puts some orange koolaid in it, I think that just made it taste worse. Right now I'm living on 1 can of boost a day, 1 popsicle a day and a little Jello container, hope that's enough for now. I can't stand the thought of broth yet! I haven't posted alot on the boards but have enjoyed reading all the comments, thus I had a better understanding of what was going on. One of the nurses told me this is becoming the most popular surgery performed, they did 9 Monday, for a city of about 80,000 it seems like quite a few!

Finally this morning the gas pain is gone!! Still had problems last evening but not nearly as bad. For those of you who don't have this problem you are very very lucky Now if the port pain would go away I'd be set:)

By this time tomorrow I will be done w/step 1 in my journey. My hospital requires pre and post surgery classes and I found out this week that my insurance company will also pay the $1200 charge for this, so everything is covered. Luckily my Dr only requires liquid diet 1 day before surgery and nothing after midnight tonight, except enough Water to take my blood pressure pill in the morning. He does require 2 weeks of clear liquid and then 2 more of "mushy" foods before you can move into softer foods. I'll get my 1st fill of 2 cc in a month if all goes well. Watched the tape of Ann Wilson again this am, does anyone know if there is a part 2 yet? My tape shows part 1.

Let me introduce myself
IaLadybug replied to IaLadybug's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Now its the waiting game. Had a 1 on 1 with my surgeon this past week. My insurance policy states that it covers obese surgery, just waiting to be sure the nutritionist and phyciatrist will also be covered. Surgery probably won't be until sometime the middle of September as hubby is going out of town on business for 2 weeks, leaving this Saturday, and then we are going on vacation the 1st 2 weeks of September.
