Gaining Weight After Vsg?
ab76307 replied to sgarelick's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good question... I'll be following this one. -
My nut said Wendy's chili is a really good choice and I always put it in the blender since I was in the purée stage. Purée stage was once explained to me as something you could suck through a straw. Amanda

My favorite was Wendy's chili...put in the blender of course. It tastes wonderful when all you've had for two weeks is liquid. LOL

Diarrea After Every Meal, Please Help!
ab76307 replied to hollygolightly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with the previous post... I didn't figure out I was lactose intolerant until I was three months out. Once I stopped with all the milk based products I haven't had a problem. Good luck! Amanda -

I just got the Mirena in December and I am very happy with it. I don't have to take a pill everyday, and it is more effective than the pill. I haven't seen a difference in my weight loss either. I was sleeved in Oct of last year. Best part is about six months after getting it you stop having a period! How great is that! I was on yaz before surgery and I think it was not helping with the weight problem and it gave me horrible acne. I am lovin my mirena. Amanda

What Did You Tell Your Friends?
ab76307 replied to Ms. Scarlett's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I told everyone! I had two other friends at work who have had wls and they were very open about it and it really helped me. Watching them and being able to talk with them about it really helped me make the decision to have it done for myself, so I feel like if I am open about it then maybe I can help someone else especially since the few that have had wls had the RNY or the band where I work I am the only sleeve. What Vitamins/supplements Do You Take (Brands/types?)
ab76307 replied to LoserMama's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Hi I also took the baratric multi Vitamins in the begining but i got really tired of the chalk taste. So I take two gummy vita craves the sour kind because they don't include orange. I also take a sublinguil B12 that is berry flavored that I get at walmart and is my favorite! I am also taking two of the citracal petites a day and a B1 and then my Iron is called Vitron C I get it at walgreens it has Vitamin C in it to help with the absorbtion. I also take a gummy Vitamin D once a day. Just remember that you can't take your calcium and iron together.... You have to take them at seperate times of the day. Calcium interferes with how you absorb iron. All of my labs have come back great except for my B1 levels. (I wasn't taking it.... I hate the smell but I am taking it now) Amanda -
I am four months post op and I order protein shots off the Internet called Proslam 27... It is what I was given at the hospital. They still have that whey taste but are wayyyyyy better than the ones from Walmart. I have one a day to hit my protein mark.

ab76307 replied to ShouldBlittler's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, yes, yes! I would do it again tomorrow if I had to. I had surgery about three and a half months ago and I have lost 66lbs since surgery. I had no complications and I feel very normal. -
Post Op Lactose Intolerance...why?
ab76307 replied to OilSooner's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also am having this problem and I love milk, but I have found that the lactaid pills have helped a great deal and I can drink milk again without the diarrhea. It's worth a try to not miss something you love and isn't bad for you. -
Why Am I Feeling Light Headed?
ab76307 replied to Bcole's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would say give the dr a call it could also be your blood pressure. We're you on blood pressure meds before surgery? If so they may be to strong now causing your blood pressure to bottom out and giving you that light headed feeling. Let us know. -
I have UHC and was seen in the ER for IV fluids in November, all you should be required to pay is your ER deductible mine is $100. It was well worth it to get the fluids and I felt much better! Good luck keep us posted!

What Is "normal" Pain
ab76307 replied to peacequeen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is where your stomach came out... They place an extra stitch there so every time I moved it pulled/ stringed but the pa told me it was totally normal. It lasted about a total of four weeks until the stich dissolved. -
