Yesterday I craved a filet o fish so bad so I went and got one sans bun. It didn't go down very well though and I felt sick. I think I'll get some plain fish at the store to fix, maybe dip it in some parmesan before cooking.

That's exactly my problem!!! I threw up a scrambled egg but PB cups go right down just fine. Not good! Today I cut up a pear and had few slices with some cheddar cheese. Thankfully that sat well with the sleeve. Does anyone else have no appetite in the morning? I can't stomach anything until about 11 am and then I eat a little bit every couple hours until about 5 or 6. Then I'm done for the day. Very weird!

My problem is I'm just 2 wks. out so protein still hurts going down but crappy foods like PB cups go down great.

What a blessing to have had 11 babies, congrats on that alone! I have 5 and they are a treasure. I havn't tried Zumba yet but I think I am going to test out the weekly class at our library to see if I like it. It looks fun!

Sorry, I'm no help. I'm already eating mushies. -
Parents Anti-Mexico = Added Stress
A New Day replied to Scorch's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Please try to relax and do what you know is best for you. When I told my mom, I also told her I wasn't asking her permission. I knew she would freak out, especially about going to Mexico. I also had the added stress of my husband freaking out too. But they finally both came around and here I am 11 days post op and 13 lbs down so far. I am very happy I did what I knew I needed to do, even though I'm in the toughest part of it right now! Hang in there! (((hugs))) -
I'm so sorry. Hopefully she will come around after surgery. Have you told her straight up that her behavior is causing you to have serious doubts about your marriage?

I am really amazed at the differences in dietary timelines.
A New Day replied to ItsTheSleeve's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I've been experimenting with mushies since 5 days post op. The liquid diet was not cutting it so I moved on. My drs. plan involves 10 days of clear and then 10 days of full liquids before mushies! I just couldn't wait that long. -

OK, you have sufficiently freaked me out!!! I am praying this will work for me but all I can think about is how I sabotage every diet I've been on. Oh dear. -
Try NuNaturals stevia. It has no chemicals, all natural, and not bitter like other stevia. I use the liquid vanilla stevia as well as their powdered stevia.

Hi, I think I was there the same time as you. I was sleeved by Aceves on the 10th. Great experience, although I don't remember too much of it because of the meds. They put us at the Crowne Plaza the night before surgery though. I wonder why you were in a different hotel? Best wishes on your journey! If you are who I remember you didn't look like you had much to lose. I thought you might have been a lapband revision to sleeve. I am down 10 lbs so far one week out!

How in the world can we binge with the sleeve? Does it really stretch that much to accommodate a binge? -
Hey there, I had my VSG on the 10th w/ Aceves. I'm sure I met you but my time there is kind of a medicated haze. LOL
-
That really stinks! Dr. Aceves and Dr. Campos were in my room multiple times a day checking on me.

I'm only a week out but losing 86 lbs. would put me at my 'skinny' ideal weight of 150 at 5'8". I started at 236 and am down 10 lbs today at one week out. 10 down, 76 to go!!!

Hi, I was sleeved in Mexicali on the 10th, everything went well and I am 6 days out now. I have to admit I am not following the rules because the clear liquids and Protein shots were not cutting it for me. My body was craving real food protein! So I have been experimenting with tiny bits of soft protein. Cottage cheese, PB, mashed banana w/ yogurt, these all went well. Last night I tried some turkey lunch meat and it was uncomfy but stayed down. This morning I tried 1 scrambled egg and it came back up so no more eggs for a long while. I did try soft boiled egg yok yesterday and it was fine. I'm tired of the Vitamin Water Zero now after so much of it, but I am drinking a lot of water w/ fresh lemon juice and stevia added. I'm down 8 lbs so far!!!

I'm home from Mexicali.......

I just had my VSG with Aceves on October 10th, last Monday. I requested no spinal block because I have had back surgery and did not want to chance it. They were happy to manage my pain in other ways. Sergio even brought me a pillow for under my knees during surgery so my back would be supported. They were very nice and helpful. I remember more than you do I think. I was actually up walking within 30 minutes of getting out of recovery. I remember feeling the gas and wanting to walk it out so hubby helped me walk. -
OCTOBER 2011 SLEEVE ROSTER
A New Day replied to Soon2BMiniMommy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Are any of the ladies on here that were sleeved last week with Dr. Aceves? Just wondering how you're doing. I have had NO nausea at all and drinking fine as long as I sip. I get that uncomfy bubble if I drink too much at once or too fast. Yesterday I caved and had a tiny spoon of PB but it went down fine. I also had some Arctic Zero whey Protein 'ice cream', it was so good and went down great. I wish that stuff wasn't so expensive! -
The vsg went well, just trying to get my water in. And I'm craving cupcakes, uggghh.

Surgery Friday Oct 7th - Dr. Aceves
A New Day replied to Ellie4me's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Hi, my surgery is Monday the 10th w/ Aceves. I have 5 children so I understand where you are coming from. One minute I can't wait to get this done and the next I think WTH am I doing? I'll be glad when it's over! -
I was going to use Dr. Joya until I saw a really bad review on his site and then saw that it was removed. That didn't sit right with me and I ended up choosing Dr. Aceves who seems to be the best all around.

You look awesome!!!!
