Aren't those to die for? Who said sleeve eating had to be boring.
-
I still love going out too. I haven't hit a buffet yet. Were you able to get a child's price? Anyway, for me it's fun to steal little morsels off my husband's and daughter's plates. They could care less. My husband says to order what I want and give him the rest, but I'd much let him order what he wants. If I HAVE to have something I can order it as a side or ala carte. There has been no greedy restaurant fees for extra plates. I do it on the sly anyway. Well, not sneaky, just unobtrusive.

That's what they call it LOL! Congrats!

Seriously About To Give Up Food Entirely!
Catracks replied to Lilee84's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did the Isopure clear drinks too. Great way to get fluids and protein in one. I personally could do them for more than two weeks, They are seriously sweet. -
I Can't Eat Anymore (Gross)
Catracks replied to peacequeen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is so WAY not normal. You especially shouldn't be vomiting all the time. Call the doctor and feel better soon. -
Only Sleeve In A Gastric Bypass Support Group Meeting ...
Catracks replied to Catracks's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Loma Linda isn't that far from where I live, but I work in Pasadena! If it were 7PM I could make it. Thank you so much for the invite and I'll keep it in mind. -
Is It The Infamous 3 Week Stall Or Is It 3 Weeks Of Stalling?
Catracks replied to happy1957's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So sorry about your friend! I didn't know it was possible. I thought leaks were either surgeon errors ot something done closer to surgery. My surgeon gave me a full release and told me I could go back to horseback riding after 2 weeks. -
Okay, This Isn't Funny

Six months is the accepted healing point for the sleeve. I won't try that agin for a while! Thanks! -
I'm sitting in my cubicle just after lunch and my stomach is gurgling like a monster - I mean LOUD. Some are gurgles and some sould like burps. I just tried cucumber for the first time. Think that might be it? It doesn't feel bad - just weird ... and embarrassing. Oh wait. It just stopped. WOW! Testing with another bite. Yes, it is indeed the cucumber. So I guess I'm on the dreaded stall too. All this and the first day back to work. I hate my scale. I guess I should be pleased. There have not been any real issues since the day of surgery. It is just realing pleasing to see the numbers drop. Gurgle rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrwwwwwwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeee rrrrrrrrrrrugggggggggggghhhhhhhh!!!!!

Not Even Two Weeks Out And Already Stopped Losing! I'm Not Even Eating!
Catracks replied to AllForMy4's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just remember Happy that's it's not a race. People tell me that when the pounds don't budge you are losing inches. I know it's hard, but soon you will be on full liquids right? I like cottage cheese. Don't get nonfat. Go for 2%, same with the milk. See what your nutritionist says to that. We are eating so little that cutting the fat doesn't seem to make all that much sense to me. Yogurt will/should go down easy too. This is your journey and you are accountable only to yourself. -
Is It The Infamous 3 Week Stall Or Is It 3 Weeks Of Stalling?
Catracks replied to happy1957's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What's old my dear. I'm 46. Have you added cadio and weight training to the mix? Maybe up the calories, up the protein? Ask the nutritionist. That's what they are there for. -
Only Sleeve In A Gastric Bypass Support Group Meeting ...
Catracks replied to Catracks's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I don't think I'll be back. I didn't get a thing out of it other than, "I'm sure as hell glad I didn't get gastric bypass!" The lapband people meet on the 4th Monday. That might be an education. -

Questions For Veterans
Catracks replied to ShouldBlittler's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
P.S. my doctor still only really does this surgery for cancer patients. I think I am his only weightloss sleeve patient. Insurance companies just recently starting approving this procedure for weightloss. I will thank her not to call my stomach a "Frankenstein pouch." -
Questions For Veterans
Catracks replied to ShouldBlittler's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This lady is an itch with a capital B. I've read her posts before and she is full of it. She is a militant anti-sleever and basicially anti Obesity Action Coalition and anti-WLS. She gathers data about worse case scenarios and shames/scares people into giving up the idea of WLS. Try and disagree with her and feel the arrogant wrath come down. -
Just Got Sleeved.... And The Scale Is Not Moving Yet?
Catracks replied to imknothatgirl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You body will have to get rid of all the fluids they have put into you. Strangely now the more you drink, the faster they will flush out. Keep the protein between 70-90 grams and the water ... what was it? at least 72 oz. and the pounds will come off. -
I was told that that the stretchy part, the big curvature was the stretchy part and that this portion of the stomach we have left doesn't stretch or only is able to stretch to accomodate the amount that will be your personal restriction something like a wallet when you put a few bills inside. What carbonation will do is put presuure on the stomach and make it fill with gas and that does not feel good. Pressure on the healing stomach is especially bad. My plan is to use the juice I've frozen from my orange and pomegranate trees and pour a bit of carbonated Water over the cube. I won't do this until 6 months out. This will be an occasional treat. I will never go back to the store bought diet sodas with all the chemicals.

Clothing Size Problem
Catracks replied to Catracks's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's funny. I was going to try Old Navy next. I don't waste too much money. I like to have a least 5 pairs of pants (one of them denim), I just bought a pair of Lee jeans and while they fit in the waist, they are horribly baggy in the thighs. They were $20. In most stores, bigger regular sizes start at 16, but tomorrow I go to Old Navy. Usually I'd go on Ebay, but I'm at a weird place and have to try things on. Once I get into the size 6-14 range I have plenty of clothes stored - Ones that don't seem to go out of style. -
My women's size 18s are too big. Women's size 16 fits (16W), but after that i see a problem. Due to the size of my caboose, I need women's sizes. A regular size 16 is too small and there are no size 14 womens - at least not at JCP. I guess I have to wear the 16W until I loose enough weight to fit into regular size 16s. Thoughts?

At 8 Months Out I Ate...
Catracks replied to june13sleever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I see your point. I'm not complaining because frankly I've never eaten so well. I don't blink at spending $10-12 a pound for fillet mignon or ahi when it takes me a week to eat it all. Steak, sashimi tuna and scallops. Please don't force me to dip that steak into Thai peanut sauce. Poor me. -
Who Was Your Gastric Sleeve Surgeon
Catracks replied to boredswfl's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
My surgeon was Troy Lamar (Love that name!) from California Bariatric and General Surgery in Arcadia. The hospital was Arcadia Methodist. I highly recommend Dr. Lamar and his staff. Dr. Lamar basically loves surgery and he's wonderful at it. The aftercare and support is great too. I'm going to a support group set up by his office tonight. It's 3x a week! -
Do not drink beverages 1/2 hour before. Drink the soup and then don't drink for 1/2 hour after. It gets you used to when more solid food goes in the sleeve. You want room for your Protein. Also liquids will flush the food quicker through the sleeve. What stage are you?
