Catracks replied to GreginMI's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Eating more fiber. Seriously, I HATE medications. It's just one of my issues. I guess I'm supposed to be on mushies, but I have broccoli and a high protein low carb cracker thing I fount at Cost Plus. It have whole wheat and sunflower seeds. When I got constipated earlier I took a shot of Citrucel. it sort of worked, but YUCK! -

Catracks replied to CHELL's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wish for a B cup. Pre-Surgery I was a D. They are now a C and not saggy. The only saggy I'm going to have is below my C-section. -

Want The Ugly Truth About Weight Loss Surgery? Well Here You Go....
Catracks replied to christiemon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
1. Being able to slide into a booth at a restaurant. What a bummer 2. Not being a Zombie all day from severe obstructive sleep apnea 3. Being able to walk and even run without pain. How can I stand this? 4. Having either a weight loss or non-weight loss victory a day. 5. and those damned compliments! -

Lunch Out With All My Coworkers
Catracks replied to Joiebean's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's pretty much how I eat out. I love to share food. It makes food a social and intimate thing which I still think it should be. it's funny though, some people are real territorial about their food. Respect all around is the key. BTW, I really love your friends. -

5 Days Post Op-Stomach Growling? Hunger Pangs?
Catracks replied to Sleeved&Hopeful's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 4 weeks out and my stomach groans and growls every time I put a full meal into it. I guess I process food very loud. -
Lunch Out With All My Coworkers
Catracks replied to Joiebean's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm glad everyone in my choir knows. We had a pizza and birthday cake. I picked and ate the topping off my pizza and refused cake. Next time just look at them in amazement and declare, "How can you possibly shovel in that much food? Did your tongue even get a chance to taste it?" Just kidding. I feel snarky today. -
Those are my full signal too. Burping as well. I've never been so gassy. I think I eat too fast as well. My sleeve makes the most funny and hideous noises. Nothing hurts. It's just weird.

I Can't Eat Anymore (Gross)
Catracks replied to peacequeen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I find if I rush and don't chew it will simply reverse direction after a very uncomfortable interlude. You have to give yourself time to be able to tell when you are full. Pushing past that will not work for the sleeve. There is nowhere for it to go except right back up the esophagus. Glad you got help. Our bodies survive quite well on liquids. Take your Vitamins though. -
We did the Route 66 thing a couple years ago and went through Oatman (love me some friendly donkeys) and into Kingman eventually ending up at Willow Beach which is at the bottom of Hoover Dam. You can rent your own boat. This is also on my list of things to do. I want to get in shape so I can to the 9+ mile hike down .... or I could ride with the pack train: http://www.havasupaitribe.com/ Ah, the gold country. Been there, done that, will do again.

How Long Till Incisons Close Up? Planning Vaca To Beach
Catracks replied to imanokie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Being submerged isn't the problem. I've never had a problem with getting sick in Mexico. I've always had an Iron stomach and it appears that my smaller sleeve is pretty resilient too. I always eat outside of the resorts. That said, so close after surgery we are still healing and a bout of Montezuma's revenge could land us in the hospital. Yeah, stay closer. -
Since I really can't do salads and sides, it's lost on me LOL San Dimas is the home of Raging Waters, a waterslie park that's been here since at least the early 80s. The is also Puddingstone Dam recreation area. WOW! I do the exact same thing for trips! I scout out the motels and restaurants, tourist traps, activities, shopping, historic sites and everything including maps and put it in a binder. I save them in case I get back that way again. The only hain restaurant I wanted to try was Cracker Barrel (again, not so sleeve friendly). Usually I find the restaurants that are famous for the area. My latest project is a trip up Hwy 395 with stops at Bishop (for mule days?), Mt. Whitney, Mammoth, Bodie and ending up in Carson City and taking the old train to Virginia City. Our trips are somewhat "rustic." I notice you're in Texas. I might be joining you if California gets much weirder.

Problem with children's menus is that they consist of 1. Grilled cheese 2. chicken fingers 3. Hot dog 4. Hamburger 5. Spaghetti and 6. Mac & Cheese. Senior menu might be a better bet or the appetizers in better resturants that don't consist of fried everything. I way mind the split charge. It's like throwing money down the drain to me personally. Your mileage will vary I also doggie bag EVERYTHING. Must be the depression era grandparents who raised me. I can eat for a week if I were to order a regular meal. If I can't be part of the clean your plate club (Thank God), I will be part of the tupperware club. It is true that there are some folks who absolutely hate leftovers. My mom's ex wouldn't touch it. I think I would still like buffets at the right price of course. I still love my food, just a LOT less of it. Anyone know a goodEthiopian place? Sleeve still loves spicy (again Thank God!)

I Can't Eat Anymore (Gross)
Catracks replied to peacequeen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you don't get the fluids in you will dehydrate. That will make you nauseated and stop moving things through. We are hpoing that you don't call the surgeon, but go directly to the ER. The "hopefully they'll call tomorrow" bothers me. All surgeons are on call 24 hours a day. Call the service and tell them to call him/her. They will set up a conference call. -
My Doc Wants To Band Me......
Catracks replied to blessedmomof2's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Totally agree. We are restricted enough. I would imagine having to deal with stuck foods like the banded people describe. That's one big reason I didn't go for the band. -
My Doc Wants To Band Me......
Catracks replied to blessedmomof2's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can't tell you how sick I am of hearing that sleeve gastrectomy is not enough. I certainly don't see evidence of that here. I got this because I didn't want bypass.
