Frustrated! Eat This, Not That....
Catracks replied to rohnk's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What's wrong with eggs? At the mushy stage I was supposed to eat 2 oz at a time. I'm two months out and still do only 2 oz of cottage cheese in the morning. I don't eat more than 4 oz. at a time unless it's liquid like Protein shakes and soup - then it's 6oz. I was drinking 2% milk in my Protein Shakes since full liquids. My cottage cheese, milk and yogurt are all 2%. I don't eat cereal. I'd rather have an egg or some other protein. The main rule for all of us is: PROTEIN FIRST! -
Well, she was U.S. Army, so no, it wasn't an option. We were guests. A very nice country with lots of beaches.

I've been eating strawberries like they are going out of style. I'm two months out. Little seeds huh?

Couldn't have said it better. In November or so, our pomegranates ripen. I make jam with most of them and I save the excess juice to put in ice cube trays to freeze. My only concern are the seed I eat. Each seed is a glob of juice that surrounds something just a little softer than a popcorn kernel and I was in the habit of swallowing them. It's it bad for the sleeve almost a year out?

A friend of mine was in Kuwait for a few years. She liked it. The only thing that bugged her was the lack of alcohol, but that wouldn't have bothered me. My vice of choice is soda. Thanks.

Fat Consumption For A Day..
Catracks replied to VJSlim's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Around 600 calories is fine if you are losing. I think the ideal is between 600-800 calories for weight loss and 1000-1300 for maintenance. Everyone is different though. You have to find what works for you. -
I only got "doctor" out of that. Not necessary, but a translation would be nice so we can all play.

Fat Consumption For A Day..
Catracks replied to VJSlim's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
We'll all get to where we want to go in our own time. You are doing fabulous! -
No offense taken. It does get better every day, but some people develop food intolerance and others don't I can eat just about anything, but I haven't tried popcorn and will not until 6 months out - something about getting the kernels caught and infecting the staple line.

Damn Was I Really That Big?
Catracks replied to blackanese25's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I only noticed how really huge I was when I see pictures. My dad commented that "It looks like you've shrunk by half!" Eh, don't sweat the use ta' bees. -
My First Nsv.....and Second!
Catracks replied to nancy_marie_00's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh yeah. Forgot about this goal of weighing less than the old man. I am almost at onederland, almost at 50 pounds gone and I have my Easter goal of 186. I think my husband weighs 188. He's 5'11" and not an ounce of fat on him. -
Fat Consumption For A Day..
Catracks replied to VJSlim's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I track my food on Fitday. Today I will consume: 742 calories, 33 grams of fat, 34 grams of carbs and 75.6 grams of Protein. Everything is about where I like it. I like my calories between 650 and 700, but I had a Protein shake this morning and with the 2% milk it's about 150 calories. I do not go non-fat, only lowfat with milk, cottage cheese and yogurt. My cheeses are full fat. Like Chris, I eat what I want of healthy fats which include dairy. eggs, lean meats, avocado, nuts, seeds and olive oil. -
Sooo Close........
Catracks replied to fluffylibra30's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congratulations!!!! Me too! Close to 50 pounds lost and sooooooooo close to Onederland. It doesn't help that I'm going to Disneyland this weekend. There is no place in the park outside where you cannot smell food. They do that on purpose. Then there are the restaurants in the resorts and downtown Disney. -
10 Week Update....(Confessions, Blessings And Lessons)

Wonderful post! You are a beautiful lady inside and out. -
Okay, so now I think I understand. I'm not being flip here, but the response to overly dramatic posts is to step back and not reply. It's hard when it becomes apparent that we are being played for fools though. It has happened on this site. People do like to play games. As someone said earlier, it is easy to get sucked in. It's what high drama people like. No offense meant. It's just a fact. P.S. I'm so slow. I think that weird typing is a way to type Arabic using Anglicized script. Funny, you think I would recognize it since I'm cataloging a mess of books about the Arabian peninsula and the Middle East in general.

Squirrel in BBQ sauce. Possum Piccata. Hog huevos. Roast budgie. Mole in mole? Lots of good protein options.

Well, okay. NOW I'm done -- unless something funny comes up.

The surgeons that do this operation are VERY aware of the diets. Most bariatric surgeons also have nutritionists on their staffs. Seriously, do we have to spell it out? I also seriously doubt macaroni is on the list for bariatric patients. White Pasta is high in carbs is is mostly nutritionally devoid. I won't even do whole grain pasta because of the high carbs. chicken is fine, but where do you get the idea that mashed potatoes are good for us? They are fine for a recuperating sleever on mushies, but again, high carbs. Sweet potatoes are better. We are not responsible for your neurosis. This place is full of kind people. The fact that people are still trying to advise you speaks to that. What gets people upset is when it become apparent that someone is trolling and is perhaps getting their rocks off over the attention. I'm done.

Can we maybe type in English? Forgive my ignorance, but WTF is: "El emoor bterja3 6abe3eya inshala intaw." The OP is a troll. It is toying with all of us. I finally had it when it said, "but when can I have my diet coke and cheese pannini?" Cheeseburgers and Orange juice. Uh huh.

3 Weeka Out Pureed Food. I Am Afraid I Am Eating Too Much.
Catracks replied to Jlo77's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sleeve does not stretch. The swelling will go down and you will be able to eat a little more. They removed the stretchy part. As the nuse said, liquids go right through. Wait until you try dense protein. You will feel the restriction. -
1 Week Post Op. Worst Patient Ever!
Catracks replied to Ohjilliankay's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For two weeks I was on Clear Liquids and didn't start feeling hunger until the 4th week. Get the crud out of the house. Drink the Protein. I used Isopure for clear liquids. It has 40 grams of protein per bottle. It was hard getting it all down, but you simply have to do it. -
I regularly eat the packaged hot and sour egg drop Soup. The soup itself is 60 calories per 2 cups and then add in the egg. I slowly drink about 1 cup. It's high in sodium, but it is a welcome warmth. You have to watch the restaurants though. With out labels you really don't know what you're getting. It's probably fine. It will go right through you of course, but it always satisfies me for a long time.

I gave it the benefit of the doubt - until now.
