5 Confessions (Join In)

I'm sure you're not. That's why I was kidding you about it. We do have reason to be proud of ourselves to be sure. -
Weight Goal, I Am Upset
Catracks replied to scorpion509's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor told me that I could expect to lose only 60% of my excess weight and he put my goal at 110 pounds. I have no idea how he came up with that figure. At 110 pounds. I'd be wearing a size 0. I flat out refuse to go there. -

You didn't ask for advice, but since I'm a suck a pain ... The cooking confession got to me because I feel guilty about it. 1. I don't cook as much anymore either. Most nights everyone just fixes what they want. There are always leftovers. I cook a large amount of meat and a couple casseroles and that seems to work to feed us. Mind you, I don't have young children. 2. I eat pretty well. The quality of my food has improved so much. I had 2 or 3 baby back ribs a couple bites of sweet potato and a bite of a fried green tomato. Not to shabby. I don't miss food in great quantity. I don't want it. 3. I still go to happy hour or out to eat. I just eat what I am able to and make smart choices. Now it's mostly about the company and conversation. 4. Have an appetizer party where everyone brings their favorite tidbits. Mix a birthday with your favorite activity such as dancing, swimming, camping, kayaking or shopping LOL! 5. Confidence is awesome. Vanity not so much -
Losing Weight Rapidly..nut Says I Need To Eat More!
Catracks replied to TMyers1471's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I eat multiple meals all day. They are more like snacks and It's better for me if I eat them slowly. I do measure everything and log it into My Fitness Pal. Do whatever works for you. If your blood work is fine and you feel fine then what is the problem? Right? -
Just Got My First Labs Back, What The...?
Catracks replied to cuteascanbelizzie's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
You can search each result on the internet, but it's best to get the results and take them to your primary care doctor. I requested that my lab results go both to my surgeon and my PCP. -
Size 18-20 To A Size 4
Catracks replied to Crystal Woods's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No, no. I meant to ask if you were wondering around in size 20 pants weighing 130-something. I had clothes for every size in between. Some were old and some I bought at Goodwill and Old Navy. You must have had in between sizes. Did you really have no idea what size you would be? I'm at 7 months and have only lost 83. Wow! I'm impressed! -
My rings rotate on my fingers, but I guess my knuckles are holding them from sliding off. I like them a little loose actually. The engagement ring had three small stones and the wedding band is just a band.

How Does One Lose 2 Pants Sizes With The Scale Not Moving
Catracks posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I couldn't figure out the flood of compliments this week. People say things like: "You are shrinking before my eyes" "You are disappearing" etc. I keep losing and regaining the same pound. This has gone on for weeks. 14s were a little lose and 12s fit better. Lo and behold, tonight I slipped into a size 10. I know you lose inches sometimes while not losing pounds, but this is weird. -
How Does One Lose 2 Pants Sizes With The Scale Not Moving
Catracks replied to Catracks's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Skinny b***h. That's good . Under all this blubber I am very petite, yet a little curvy. At 5'1" and small bones I tended to wear X-Small clothes. I don't think i can go back to that though - not unless I had plastics. The boob skin isn't shrinking much, but they are deflated. I've got the skirt/apron thing going. It's not noticeable under clothes, but BAH! I wouldn't mind a little height on me dang it! It'll come off. We're all in the long haul. This is going to be an ongoing thing so if it takes 1 year, two years or three -- We are still smaller and healthier than before and we get to have that for the rest of our lives. YAY sleeve! You know what trips me out a bit. Those folks that started this journey at a 30 BMI. I;m a 30 now and feel super fit. I guess it's all relative huh? -
How Does One Lose 2 Pants Sizes With The Scale Not Moving
Catracks replied to Catracks's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I went and bought a kayak that came it said with a size large adult life vest. I put it on and said, "Hm, guess i wear a large." I took it off and the thing said "Adult Small/Medium" Woo HOO!!!! I take long hikes almost every other day. I also bike so I know I'm adding to the muscle. I just hate the "Obese" label. I won't be "overweight" until I hit 158. i know they are just numbers and words, but they still have meaning. I am thankful. -
Been there, done that. I have to stop way before I get that feeling. I am a plate cleaner too and one bite too many will bring it on. Slow eating for me is the key. LOL "There goes all that Protein."

Catracks replied to Raven21's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have around 110 pounds to lose. by 3 months I had lost 56 pounds. By 6 months, 75. Now at 7 months it has really slowed down. I'm at 82 pounds lost. i haven't lost anything for some weeks, but lost two pants sizes. Weird huh? I'm not going to make that labor day goal. -
On A Major Stall, But With Multiple Nsvs This Week
Catracks posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I went to Knotts berry Farm on Friday. I had not been for 2 years because I was a millimeter from not being able to fit into the rides. This time there was room to spare! I couldn't even get the bar over my stomach in the bumper cars and there was plenty of room to spare. I ran everywhere and only had enough when the temp reached 105 and I had gone on Xcelerator twice. I went into Goodwill and found size medium tops and size 10 jeans and shorts. They now almost fit. The pants I mean. I am wearing medium tops. I went into target and got this cute little dress off the rack and it fit beautifully. It was the first time I have worn a dress in AGES. We went grocery shopping after church and the girl at the deli counter looks at me and says, "Have you lost weight? You look incredible!" That made my day and I told her so. I didn't even think she remembered me from week to week. -
The Stuff They Don't Tell You
Catracks replied to Parker's Dad's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I could barely tolerate refried Beans and was able to eat maybe two bites of flaky soft fish so at that point it was a futile effort nutrition wise. Still, since flaky soft fish is one the menu then I would say yes to the crab. It just depends on what you can tolerate. -
The Stuff They Don't Tell You
Catracks replied to Parker's Dad's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sure. Why not? -- as long as you don't eat the shell. Seriously, it depends on what eating plan your surgeon put you on. at 3 weeks I was on full liquid which means milk, yogurt, Protein shakes, etc. -
The Stuff They Don't Tell You
Catracks replied to Parker's Dad's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There are a few things I did have to find out on my own. Being constantly cold for the first 3 months was one. I suppose that was due to severe calorie deficit. I mean, who could stay warm with 300 calories? Also, when I did a strenuous 10 mile hike up and down a mountain I tried to do it on my usual calorie load of 750 with low carb. I got down and starting shaking. Now I take toast and Peanut Butter with me. Then there is my aversion to sugar and the fact that I do not salt my food. I love unsalted nuts. I never did before. -

The different sized clothing will help on your way down. I'm only just having to buy clothes as I don't have anything from size 10 down. Goodwill is also a life saver. I just wear them and give them back to Goodwill when I shrink :-) -

I never had a sweet tooth either. I just figure that I've conditioned my body to do without sugar. I never eat refined sugar anymore. I had two bites of my daughter's ice cream and felt ill. I couldn't get the sickening sweet taste out of my mouth. Fruit still tastes fine. -

We've talked about this before. Some people just get offended. I don't because I know I looked like crap and am loving the compliments. I've even had poeople ask me how much weight I've lost. My boss asked me that. I don't care. I'll tell anybody. If they think poorly of me for some reason, it's not on me. -

LOL - Totally gross! -
Eating more that 1/4 of the English muffin would make me hurl - literally. I stay away from McDonald's like I would the plague. Nothing for me there. Like Katie I do a home version, but with scrambled eggs.

Honest Opinions
Catracks replied to FlawlessVictory13's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Which is exactly why I chose the sleeve. I can take or leave sugar, but I was a volume eater. Not any more though. -
Everything seems to cause cancer and we were built to digest animal protein. That said, vegans surely can have an ethical objection, but meat in itself is not bad for you. Casein is mainly found in milk and milk products. Again, good for us. To the topic: I ate nuts at two months and nut butters since soft foods. I eat some form of nuts daily - usually sliced roasted unsalted almonds on my Greek yogurt. Some use almond milk and love it. Almond flour can be used in baking. It's good stuff, but very high in calories so watch the serving sizes.
