  5. Hiya, Ya I never had to apply for private insurance coverage, the Quebec healthcare system paid for the whole thing...I think I am one of the rare lucky ones though, although you could always talk to your surgeon about provinicial health care coverage and see what they say as it was my surgeon who decided that it would be covered by healthcare!!!

  6. Hi there, I noticed in your profile you say you have yet to apply for insurance coverage. Is this something we could perhaps do in Canada? It would be amazing if some of it could be covered.

  7. Hiya, Ya ive noticed the same thing as well on here...Im from quebec and was recently banded on September 16th!!!!
  8. Ok so I am now 6 days post op and feeling pretty good most of the time. Am I the only one who has more difficulty with breakfast then the other meals...I have now moved on to cream soups rather then broths and they go down fine however i tried really runny porridge as the book the surgeon gave me suggests and it did not go well, I had an incredible pain in my chest with pressure and tightening only to be followed up by me vomiting the porridge today I tried extra soggy rice krispies again as suggested by the post-op diet book and it was difficult to eat I only got down about a quarter of it and that with difficulty, again with pain and tightening although not as bad as with the porridge, and it stayed down, no vomiting, although I must say that even water in the morning I feel it when it gets to the band(or where I can assume the band is placed) but the rest of the day no problem the soups go down well even pudding I have no problem with, is this normal or something I should contact my surgeon about? has anyone else experienced this or something similar? Please help...Thank you so much!!!

    Pre-op diet blues

Thank you so much guys, its wonderful to know that I am not alone in feeling the way I do! Its a huge help!!!
  11. Ok so I am set for surgery on Friday of this upcoming week and Im really excited but now that its here I feel like its all going so fast!!! I have been waiting 9 months total for my surgery and was expecting to go through all the steps before surgery only to be called and told that I will be skipping all the steps including 3 weeks of liquid opti-fast pre-op diet. Instead of 3 weeks I am doing 1 and a half weeks is it only me or is this tough or what? im into day 4 and feel like crap...Im nauseous, dizzy and the smell and sight of food is driving me crazy!!! I broke down and cried today because the lady next to me at the store was buying cheese!!! Seriously cheese I feel like a crazy lady!!!! It took all my strength to not grab the cheese and make a run for it and the only thing keeping me from the fridge right now while my family is out is writing this note!!! So sorry for blabbing on and on but this blabbing is saving me lol...Oh and you know how on tv sometimes people see other people and other things as food...ya like so totally happening... I swear my dog looked like a hamburger today!!! And as if on purpose the tv seems to only be showing commercials for food and or restaurants and the tv shows themselves no better: cake boss, cupcake wars, hells kitchen, cake walk ...geese a little support here quit rubbing in the fact that I am starving myself, literally starving myself!!!! I read and see all these success stories and know that it will be worth it in the end but right now it is seriously testing my mental strength. So thanks for listening while I complain it is very much appreciated....
