3-6 month out eating questiom?
CHEZNOEL replied to SWChitown's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Banded 10/31/2011, down 80+ pounds. -
Hang in there... the time will pass. Congratulations on your surgery date! Come back often.
-
Hiccups come for reasons that even doctors don't understand. Mine usually are a signal of eating too fast or bit too much. Hope this will be your green zone! Best wishes.
-
Best Wishes on getting your approval. I was self pay, so cannot help there. It will be done before you know it and you will be back here asking how to get rid of gas pain! Congratulations on your decision, it the best thing I have ever done for myself.
-
Make sure the liquids are protein rich. That's the best way to stay satisfied.

Yay for your band. Nice to know our brains have back up!

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
CHEZNOEL replied to MsRhonda's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds like a good decision Ms Rhonda. I think the behavior change is a huge part of it. I have seen several people with bypass relapse seriously and now where do they go from here? I did not want the permanent change to my inards! -
Probably a few more days. Walk as much as possible, windmill your arms, and apply heating pad. It's a b***h, but it does go away.. Congrats on your surgery!.g

I LOVE MY BAND. I am at Docs goal of 175 for my height, but going for 165. 8 more pounds to go! Best thing I ever did for myself. Size 22 down to size 8 jeans! Yay me!!!! -
Sounds like time to call the doc.
-
Congrats to you both.

You pay the surgeon to be bothered. It is his job!

Band feels as if its sticking me
CHEZNOEL replied to ladymarshall's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
If you were newly banded, the port stays sore for 6-8 weeks, but I would think that would be done by now. Did you bump your port? If is is under your waistband it may need to be relocated. Call the doctor is my net advice. -
Call the doctor... it could be an infected stitch, but better safe than sorry. If you can apply light pressure to it to see if it stops on it's own. If not... good thing tomorrow is Monday!

Slight discomfort when eating one week after fill...
CHEZNOEL replied to sherrypep's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You could be sore from the fill. Did you do liquids after the fill? Did you have one episode in particular that might have caused irritation. Take it slow, but if it does not ease up in a day or two I would call the doctor. This is not a race and you do not want to harm your band by overfilling. -
I have been in this panic. But I do believe it is growing back. Always thin and always will be, but hon, if you need a wig, better that than obese in my book. I also took zinc cause someone said it would help. It seemed to stop at about 7-8 months out. Best wishes. It is NOT shallow, we are women and hair is part of it! Prayer for you!

You sound too tight my dear. I would check with the doctor if you cannot eat solid food tomorrow.

In particular search for Florisdays, she is from the Tampa Bay area and is a real sweetheart. I will PM her your post. She would be a great resource for you.

I was self pay, but I do not recommend traveling too far. It is best to have a doctor who has a full support team, nutritionist, psychologist, nurse practitioners, support groups, seminars, etc. They will then be with you throughout your journey. I think there are some other Tampa Girls around so they will have ideas for you. My net out of pocket was around $12,000. Tell the doctor you will be be self pay right up front. Many can operate in an surgical center which is cheaper than the hospital. I was out patient. Also, be sure to ask what the fees include regarding followup visits and fills and unfills. It turns out in my case insurance would not pay for the surgery, but does pay for fills. They also paid for many of the pre-surgical tests as well. Most doctors are willing to work with you and some have financing. Good luck choosing a doctor and a practice that will work for you. I will say that the band is the best thing I ever did for myself, and I do not regret a penny of what it cost me. If I may ask, why are you self pay?
