I don't understand why a family member cannot replace the bandage? -
All of the above. I believe if you have a strong relationship, it will stay strong.

Confused, need some input
CHEZNOEL replied to jennygirl37's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Also... be careful about head hunger versus real hunger. Soup is a slider food for the most part, not a lot of chewing required. I think it is the chewing that helps me feel satisfied. Discuss your feelings and food choices with your doctor or dietician for best feed back. It can be hard to tell from person to person as each is us is different with the band. -

94% of diets fail long term. -
It should be fine, but if you are concerned call your surgeon.

Can i get the lap band after having gastric bypass
CHEZNOEL replied to julie7374's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sorry... bad analogy... birds eat 1 to 2 times their weight every day. LOL. It sounds like you should start with your original surgeon and confirm that everything is ok from the original surgery. I would think long and hard about a second procedure. None of the surgeries guarantee weight loss if you do not change you lifestyle. -
You go girl! Congratulations!

What B-52 said has been my experience.

Look for LouisianaLisa. She is a great friend.

I started before my surgery date as well. I needed to eat slower, chew longer and not wash my food down with diet soda. That about covers my vices. By starting early I was able to lose enough weight not to require a pre-op diet. And I starting building new better habits. I would also recommend you start taste testing protein powders. Nashua Nutrition sells several brands in single serving size so you can try them without committing to a huge container. I found several I love that way. Also be sure to try Unjury Chocolate Splendor! The best. Invest in the sugar free syrups coffee shops use, they can spice up a bland protein shake or cup of coffee! I congratulate you on thinking ahead and getting prepared. I think it was one of my success factors. Best Wishes!

The limeade from Target is very good, as is the Tazo Passion Iced tea. My stock is in Tazo! LOL

what alcoholic drinks do you still enjoy?
CHEZNOEL replied to SuzyMarie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Anything without carbonation. I know of one bander who drinks a shot of vodka in raspberry Crystal light. -
I just ate a very small portion of what I was craving, or got myself a fresh glass of crystal lite. It does take the brain a while to catch up. You may well still be in Bander Hell, without enough restriction to let you know you are satisfied... It is a head game, but we all go through it.

Huh? 4lbs only? Is this normal???
CHEZNOEL replied to Karen85's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is clearly normal for you. You are still healing my friend, so don't expect a lot at first. The goal is slow and steady. It is not a race. Follow your diet and the pounds will come off. -
Overeating before surgery date - Help!
CHEZNOEL replied to hockeymother's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just take it one day at a time. It is important to follow the diet to avoid having your surgeon cancel your surgery. Just remember you will eat again! It will just be healthier food and portions! -
Yes you may gain weight initially from surgery, but it is temporary. Don't fret. Consider waiting a couple weeks if you can to weigh in, and enjoy!

You tell em Rosie! iT IS YOUR LIFE! -
Mix up the liquids... don't use the same things constantly. Variety spices it up a bit.

Feel free to stop when you feel satisfied, not full. If you wait until you feel full you will feel stuffed shortly afterwards. There is not hard set requirement that eat anything when you are not hungry.

Puree & Mushie ideas, HELP!!!

Good ideas all. Just about anything you eat can be pureed. -
Make sure you drink a variety of protein shake flavors, it helps avoid the monotony!
