travel before/after banding
CHEZNOEL replied to aviva1979's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree that travel may be a distraction, but if you are going to travel during the liquid stages, be prepared to carry stuff with you to eat/drink. -
I also take Biotin and Zinc to help. Mine stopped dropping so fast after a bout 6 months, now it is just old age!

Appetizers sizes work for me.

Tomorrow's the day, yet I'm so angry with myself!

Best wishes to you. Don't be so hard on yourself, you have made the commitment to change, now get on with it! You will be so glad you did! -
Starting my liquid diet today, have one question....
CHEZNOEL replied to Mike70's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There should be no deny. Once you are banded and have progress to solid food there is nothing you cannot eat. Some things will be better choices obviously, but there is nothing I ate before surgery that I cannot eat now. I make healthier choices, but do not deny my cravings. -

CHEZNOEL replied to Wanna-Be-Healthy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Chapstick, gas-x, protein drinks diffrerent flavors, sf uncarb drinks, Mio, etc. Tylenol if you have been taking advil or aspirin you will need to stop. -
Doing the right things and losing is what it is all about. Congrats on your loss so far.

check with your nutritionist. I was allowed 2-3 ounces of protein shake each hour in order to get up to 60 g protein. You may really be hungry!

Protein Shakes After Full Healing?
CHEZNOEL replied to solson8201's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You are correct that calories should come from food, BUT.... if you should have a stuck or PB episode, you may need to switch back to liquids for a day. Also after a fill it is liquids for 24 hours. Always good to have on hand. Work well when travelling, because you can always find milk or water to mix with. -
I agree... Atkins are the lowest carbs, but there are a lot out there. Usually located near the protein powder. Watch for the calories though and be sure to log them.

Stress is my bugaboo!
-
I think if you are feeling full for 4-5 hours after a meal you are fine. There are some on here will no fills after a year. One friend has lost 118 pounds with no fills.

Are we still beating this horse? My decision was based upon surgeon's recommendation and less invasive procedure. I do have Plication with my Band.

Preop diet surgery July 5
CHEZNOEL replied to ready4myboys's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Celery? Carrot sticks? Greek Yogurt? -
You should be fine... the port is sewn to the muscle and if you stretched it it could be sore for a couple of days.
-
Perfectly normal! Keep to the plan, and try not weighing every day!
-
Totally unnecessary competition. Just do your thing and see what happens at the next visit! Or don't invite her again. Healthy is healthy and you are succeeding.

I needed the tool, just saying. I could lose 80 pounds 10 times and gain it back every one.
-
Cottage cheese, oatmeal, scrambled eggs, yogurt with a little granola, yogurt with Peanut butter, Protein shakes when I feel tight in the am.

Eating out of control because you know you're getting surgery
CHEZNOEL replied to betchaican's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not to throw cold Water on the last suppers, but I started out by trying to change my eating habits to band rules for 2 months prior to surgery. We have to start somewhere, and least when I forgot and ate to big of bites, I did not get stuck. I ended up losing almost 20 pounds those 2 months. There is no time like the present to start living the rest of your life. By the way, at 19 months, there is NOTHING that I could or did eat before surgery that I cannot have now in lesser quantities and better eating habits. You can do it if you WANT it bad enough! -
Hang in there! It will get better!
-
Sorry you got stuck. At least now you know what you are trying to avoid. Chew, Chew, Chew! The band does vary for me by time of day and stress level. We are all different though. Take it easy after a stuck.

Anyone else get really really depressed from this site?
CHEZNOEL replied to Lapbandster's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The negativity gets old, but trying help newbies with genuine questions offsets that for me. I rarely respond to negative nellies and you learn pretty quickly who they are. The new folks need a voice of reason on occasion. I am not here a much as I was, but I have several people who still PM me there questions and ask for help. -
Same here, down 80+ and just a scars line. I can feel it if I try, but it is not noticeable.
