Please help - 2nd day
CHEZNOEL replied to Wanna-Be-Healthy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The band alone is some restriction, plus your tummy is swollen from surgery. If you follow the guidelines, most will lose weight with the liquid diet post-op. If not, it is likely your surgeon will replace some or all of the fill at you checkup appointment. -
Janet... prayers for you friend!

Which one is my port? (Graphic picture attached)
CHEZNOEL replied to Wanna-Be-Healthy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I really cannot tell from the picture, but if you give it time to heal, you should be able to feel the port beneath the skin. Longest incision. -
We will all be thinking about you! Come back to let us know how things go and congratulations on your surgery! It is the best decision I ever made for myself.

Telling Friends and Family about Getting Banded.
CHEZNOEL replied to KendallEva's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Tell the people you want to tell when you are ready. No... I don't keep it a secret, but there is a huge lack of understanding about the band that makes some people think it is easy easy way out. Nothing could be further from the truth. You will work danged hard to be successful. I would recommend that when you decide who to tell before surgery, take them with you to the seminars so that they can become educated as well. It is a personal decision and one that I am very happy with. Most people don't know about the band. My family and two closest friends plus a few thousand on LapBandTalk are the only ones! LOL! -
Please help - 2nd day
CHEZNOEL replied to Wanna-Be-Healthy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Keep the faith. You can do this. Everyone is different. You may be able to lose without fills. Many people have lost over 100 pounds with no fills. Just continue to follow the instructions as you have been and allow the body to heal. I hope the unfill helped you feel better. Best wishes, and please bring your questions here. But... be aware, we may tell you to ask your doctor because most of us have no medical training, just experience with what works for us. I hope you are feeling better soon! -
Going into my third month...
CHEZNOEL replied to sallie2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Keep with the program! We all lose at different rates. Are you logging your food and portions? If not I recommend MyFitnessPal. Sometimes we are eating more than we realize and this program will help to point that out! -
I agree with Missy, this does not sound normal at all!

Liquid diet Constipation
CHEZNOEL replied to BigOBoy123's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am on long term 1/2 dose Miralax every other day. Still... at 19 months. I was never constipated before surgery. Talk with your PCP or surgeon, there are things to do. Warning... mine told me not to even think about considering myself constipated on the liquid diet until after 5 days. Your solid food intake will improve this as you progress. -
40lbs lost yet I dont see a thing!
CHEZNOEL replied to koolkel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Track you body measurements. Inches lost is weight lost. If you don't think 40 pounds is a loss pick up a big bag of dog food at the grocery store and carry it around for a while. It is HEAVY! Keep up the good work. Sometimes the brain takes a while to catch up since you see yourself every day. Trust in the scales and consider the body measurements. Good luck! -
Be your own motivation. Want to lose! Yes, I too recommend My Fitness Pal, and I would also suggest an evening hobby. Sewing, knitting, scrapbooking, anything to keep the hands busy! Good luck. You can beat head hunger.
