New to this site and disappointed

Enough... move on people. It is an open forum. Bashing is not productive. -
Extremely tough time post-op
CHEZNOEL replied to fischer's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Call the surgeon! You should be able to get the pain under control. -
You know what to do... just do it and don't look back! Those pounds will come off!

The port area is last to heal. Since is sewn to the muscle it can get irritated with a lot of activity and bending. I am 20 months since surgery and can still get soreness if I overdo my abs work.
-
You may need more time. Just keep sipping. Slow and steady wins the day!
-
Make sure you are not getting dehydrated!

The port site is the last to heal. As it is sewn to the muscle wall, activity may irritate it. I am surprised your surgeon put ti close to your pants line, most are higher up. I think it will likely move as you lose weight. It is normal to have some part pain. If I overdue my abs exercises, I can have pain even now at 20 months. Good luck to you!

Accept who you are and what you lose. We are all different and comparison is self-defeating and futile!
-
Sounds like a good motivator!

Amen!

I would recommend against it. It is time to start learning self discipline. You will need it later on. The band is NOT a diet, only a tool.

Back to work question

You may find that you tire more easily. I would have given it at least a week, more to learning the after band eating programs, but I wish you good luck. -
Food getting Stuck
CHEZNOEL replied to reneeperdue's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds like you just need more practice with tiny bites and chewing. Take it very slow and don't ever try to wash down a stuck with liquids! You can do it, but I still forget sometimes after 20 months. We spent years with our old habits and forming new ones is always a challenge. Good luck. Definitely call your surgeon if you continue to have problems with smaller bites. -
Good morning all! Continued prayers for Diane and her brother and family! Mini.... Likewise. I will add your son to my list of prayers! Janet... you dry yet? Looks like we will get more rain today! Carole... did you find nice furniture on your adventure? Dawn... hope you and Brad and family had a great visit! Doreen... Mountain pies and kayak? Who would have thunk it a year ago? Cawa... have you deserted us? Kind of a lazy Sunday here, no sun. I guess I will work on basting my quilt sandwich together and see if I can start quilting later today. This quilt is for the father of our God-Daughters who has just been diagnosed with lymphoma. Please add Tyler, Jessica, Grace and Eva to your prayers.

Prayers for you Diane and your brother. Keep us posted if you can!

Firming at the gym is best. Most firming lotions do not really work.
-
The band will be fine. Just listen to your body.

Agree with the above... 3 pounds a day is perfectly normal. Your weight will fluctuate. I would recommend weighing weekly. Are you taking your measurements? That is another method of tracking progress. Don't stress!
-
Congrats on your success!
-
Yes, need more specifics. Could you be constipated?
-
Talk with your doctors, many meds have liquid alternatives. You may need to substitute with the liquids for a while until you are able to move on to solids again. I can swallow all my pills now without problems, but I do take them one at a time.
-
You tell them Sandy! We are proud to know you!
-
You concerns are very normal. And all of us here needed the band as a tool to help up. I am out 20 months, and my normal is smaller portions, but I can eat anything I want. Keep the faith, you can do this if you want it!
-
Love you all!

You go Doreen... you can do it!
