My Lap Band story ..... what can I say ..... well I called around to a few places, found one in Mexico, the girl said it was Mt.Zion but it was Jeruselam. She showed me photos of a clean beautiful hospital, when infact is was in a dirty stripmall...............Anyhoo............ This girl supposedly had lapband so I asked her a whole bunch of question on the positives and negatives..............this was BEFORE the surgery....... she had ZERO negative things to say!
...................

Well I have the surgery, I get back home, my stitches are ALL infected! all stitches are done incorrectly........... need I go on....... the only thing that seems to be okay is that for the first few days i'm not hungry.............WELL............ maybe 5 no lets give them 7 days after surgery i can eat same amount as before surgery and NOT FULL!
So I call, the girl says well you need a fill, but they wont do it yet as it's too early....... wait 4 weeks then come get your fill, as I've told her about  my infections and the stictches and she's like "oh that's too bad,.... okay call back in 3 weeks" .... W.T.F.......... OKAY!!!!!!
So I call back and then same girl and she begins to tell me ALL the problems with the lap band! I say why didn't you say any of this before hand? No response....

So now I'm calling places in Canada to see who will do the fills and guess what all our wonderful doctors wont give me the time of day, these people who took an oath to help people and now because I didn't have the 18k + to spend on surgery in Canada want to toss me to the side. Canadian doctors should make the surgeries affordable to all families regardless of income! Only the rich should be able to make a lifestyle change and start to get healthier for themselves and family?????????
Needless to say the lap band has SUCKED for me! I've actually gained 10 pounds since surgery and even though I've been given referral letters to see doctors about my band they still say no.
If your choosing between the sleeve and lap band do yourself a favor and do the sleeve! To much $hit to deal with the lap band.
