    September Bandsters

Thy actually have to have a surgery date in order for the insurance to process it. With no date the insurance can't prioritize and it goes to the bottom of the pile. My husband is an insurance specialist for a bariatric center and they also use that as leverage when they call in Good luck!!
  2. I think this was one of the first things I noticed after my surgery that I completely lost the feeling of full. When you are first banded you will not have restriction but you will also not have the feeling of full. I speak at seminars and talk about how the band isn't there to slap you on the wrist it is there to teach you to stop eating when you are satisfied and not "full." Now i do have one question...you are eating small meals but how many times are you eating per day? According to my doctor with the band at a right restriction you should only be eating 3 small meals a day and one 100 calorie snack. The meals shouldn't be larger than a lean cuisine (what my nutritionist says). As far as bread goes I could eat bread up until my last fill than I began not being able to tolerate it. I could probably physically eat bread very tiny tiny bites very slowly but just because I can doesn't mean I should and considering how narly the PB and sliming feelings are I really avoid them all together. I can no longer do sandwiches or wraps because the carbs ball up before the band. Rice expands so its a definite no no I can do brown rice though.

This happens a lot to me right after a fill and it is especially hard in the morning. I always drink a hot cup of tea (decaf of course) first thing when I wake up and 15-30 minutes before the meal and it really helped reduce the sliming and PBs Oh and if your band had slipped you wouldn't be able to hold down anything not even water! and you would have known when it slipped it would have been terribly painful. My husband works in a bariatric center and sees this happen and the person definitely knows (btw thats not how I met him HAHA!" Good Luck! You'll find your grove!

The only Isopure that I can find remotely tolerable is the Lemon Iced Tea..but ICE cold. I stick it in the freezer sip for an hour or so than put it back in. Good Luck! The guy at the store actually told me he LIKED them! I couldnt believe it
