  1. Update us when you are feeling better. The first few days can be rough but you will wake up the fourth or fifth morning and feel like a new woman! And then- a week later when some weight has come off you feel magic!

  2. Thoughts and prayers with you today girlie! Good luck!

  3. First full day back at work. It's 9:15 and I can't keep my eyes open. Good night all.

  4. Way to go! Isn't it a great feeling!
  5. I think this is a fabulous idea! I would love to join this group! Webcams can be purchases relatively cheap all over the place anymore. I would even check Amazon. Amazon is my go to for everything these days because it's just so cheap. Let me know how things go and if I can help you get this started at all. Thanks!
  6. I'm only two weeks out- but already I've noticed a sense of inner happiness I haven't felt in a long time.. Heck, maybe I've never felt it like this. For the first time in a long time there is something I'm looking forward to! In two weeks I have lost 25 pounds and I know I'm just going to keep losing. Emotionally it can be a bit tough at times, especially for someone who enjoyed food and has a lot of gourmet cooks in the family. When I say enjoyed I mean more like the quality and the experience of new tastes verses stuffing down emotions. (Not that I didn't do that too.) I'm enjoying sharing this journey with you guys, with YouTube and people on my blog, my family, and my coworkers. It is an amazing journey and really feels like a self discovery at times. Good luck to you
  7. Thoughts and prayers are with you today, and with God on your side you don't need luck!

  8. Good evening all, it's a cold one here in NY! The last two days I have started to replace one shake a day with a soft meal. The first night I did it with the meat from two crab legs (couldn't finish it all) and then today with a little chili and some greek yogurt for extra Protein. The scale is showing a gain of one pound. Is it common to maybe gain a pound or two once you start transitioning from non-liquids? Thanks, Danielle
  9. I spent most of my time sleeping. Like you I did not want to pay for TV. I didn't end up watching anything on my laptop, but it was easy to keep in touch with people who were wondering how I was doing. I brought a night gown of my own just to help me feel more normal, and I'm glad that I did. I also brought my Kindle but didn't end up using it at all. Good luck to you!! It's so close!

    Question About Soft Foods

Thank you for posting this! It is good information to have that I did not previously know.

    Question About Soft Foods

I haven't done any sort of noodle because it is a carb. I've tried REALLY hard to make it so that anything I put in my mouth contains protein. If you are on soft foods there are several recipes on EggFace's blog under soft foods. I google "Egg face" and her blog comes up. I don't want to post a link because idk how she feels about it. There is a recipe there with ricotta, mozzarella, and eggs I'm going to be making for Christmas. My family is having lasagna and I'll have that and still stay on plan! Also- Wendy's chili is amazing! I can only eat a few baby spoons at a time, but it sure has helped me feel normal again!

    First "success"

Today I had to return some clothes I ordered online to Fashion Bug and managed to get the sister who doesn't totally hate shopping to go with me. Since I was returning clothes because they were too big it was okay to browse as long as I didn't spend more then I was refunded right? Well, shopping is so much fun right now! In August I remember being in Fashion Bug to get an outfit for my uncles 80th bday and crying in the dressing room when I had to try on 4x because 3x just didn't work anymore. So today I go into the dressing room with a few shirts in 3x and one 2x just because they didn't have it in a 3x. I tried on the 2x first because I figured I could cheer myself up with the other shirts when this one didn't fit.... But guess what!! I had to peak my head out of the dressing room and ask Alyse "Can you see if this one is on the clearance rack in a 1x?" Seriously, that moment is totally in my top 10 best moments ever! I ended up getting a few shirts that were 2x and a few that were 1x. I comfortably fit the 2x's now- but I know it won't be long before I need the 1xs. (At $5/each how can you not stock up a little in the smaller sizes?) It was such a fantastic day. Alyse hasn't seen me since before my surgery because she was away at college. When she saw me for the first time last night she couldn't stop telling me all the places she could see the weight loss. (face, stomach, legs, ect.) I kept telling her to shut up and stop trying to make me feel good.... This went on all night until she made me stand in the doorway I took my preop pics and then loaded the new ones into the computer side by side.... WOW! You can see the difference. Who knew I have a neck? lol!!!

    Question About Soft Foods

I need to work on not getting on the scale every day.. Multiple times a day. I feel addicted to it though.. For so long getting on the scale was so traumatic and now it seems more like magic! It is good advice though and I will work on maybe just once a day for now... Baby steps. Right now I'm enjoying a tablespoon of Wendy's chili with some Fage Greek yogurt mixed in. Yummy! Still mostly on Protein shakes but the taste of real food is enough to satisfy me right now. Thank you all for your advice.

Even funnier, I'm fitting in my 18s too!! I love "The Flirt" jeans from Old Navy. They fit me in all the right ways! I haven't lost any weight in the last 2 days... I think it's time to get the tape measure out! Very happy for you!

    I Totally Graduated!

Way to go! Such amazing accomplishments! You will do great both with the sleeve and now that you have graduated!
  17. I'm not even two weeks out and haven't lost anything in almost three days. I think it may be some of the baby food I've been eating. Gonna try and give that up now that I discovered Fage greek yogurt. Good luck to you!

    Pressure? What Pressure?

Enjoy the holidays! I know they are hectic but the memories made as we rush around are so precious! I wish either of my grandmothers has made Christmas cookies with us! Congrats on your weight loss! And you're hair will grow back My tip is to stimulate your scalp a few times a day to increase blood flow. GL!

Post Gastric Sleeve Surgery Turn Around

I'm on day 11 and for me the turn around day was really day 6. I felt so much better. I took a shower and put makeup on! I even cleaned a little.. very little. But it felt good to not be in pain with every move I made. It does get better. Fluids are my biggest struggle right now. And now slowly reintroducing soft foods. I had no idea how consuming this process would be, but I wouldn't go back for anything!
  22. And I am VERY nervous! By now the whole office probably knows why I was out of the office. I tried to keep it under wraps but unfortunately when you work for such a small company and the acting office manager is a gossiping snipe- things have a way of getting out. And even if some at work don't know, when I get there today my 25 pound loss is very obvious in my face. But honestly, I don't care who does and doesn't know. Those who care about me have supported me through this and they are the only people that matter. There will be naysayers everywhere in life why should my WLS be any different? I'm only going in for a half of a day. I want to sort of ease myself back in today so Monday doesn't smack me in the face like a a trillion ton of bricks. Plus, I can't afford not to. By going into work this afternoon for a few hours it will enable me to work from home this weekend and help make up for some of the two weeks I've missed. Now that my classes have ended for the semester I really do plan to spend Saturday and Sunday cemented in work. Nothing like having a paycheck two days before Christmas that is only two days worth of pay! (I only had two sick days remaining and no vacation time.) So, wish me luck! I hope you all have a fabulous day!

    Returning To Work Today....

Never in a million years did I expect the reaction I got! No one really knew I was coming in today, I just went in to work a few hours this afternoon to get my feet wet for Monday. I walked through the doors and half the office came running! It was a reaction I never ever would have expected. Immediately the girls who knew what my surgery was for started commenting on how they could see weight loss in my face.... And then when I took my coat off I got even more comments! Really?!?!? Seriously!?!?!? I was so happy! I feel like I worried over a whole lot of nothing. One co-worker didn't know I had come in because I snunk in at lunch time and she caught me walking by her cubicle and like stuck her head out to look at me... Later she came over to my desk and told me how happy she was for me and that she could totally see in my face and my back that I had lost weight and she was happy for me. I hope these people aren't just saying these things to make me feel better! Oh hell, even if they are I love it! LoL. I was tempted to wear my brand spanking new size 18s, but opted to try and look more like a post op patient hoping for some sympathy lol. Monday I'll really wow them! Thank you all for your kind and encouraging words today. I don't know how I would have managed to leave the house without them- honestly!
  24. 10 days out at 24 pounds lost. I am a higher BMI person though.

    2 Days Post Op... #@$%

Congrats on your surgery! You will be feeling better in no time! I took my vicodin religiously the first 5 days. The 6th day I started with just tylenol and have been ok since then. Take them if you need them!
