    Popcorn After Gastric Sleeve Surgery....

I love popcorn so much I actually used to have a blog called the Popcorn Chronicles lol It was all about where to go in the area I live for the best popcorn- which microwave brands were the best- which toppings I liked.... It's terrible! I really am willing to bet 15 pounds of me were all popcorn! And honestly- I'd be content to keep those 15 if the rest go! lol I'm glad I will be able to enjoy popcorn again... I'm so glad I asked this question!
  3. Love my pressure cooker! It's a life saver!! I need to find a mini one tho... Seems silly to use the big one if I'm just cooking for Mr. Josh... (That's what I named my tummy- don't ask)
  4. I will have to try a rotisserie chicken. Heaven knows chicken is about the only thing my sleeve doesn't like.

    Popcorn After Gastric Sleeve Surgery....

I'm not too worried about the carb monster... In the past at least it hasn't been something I've battled. I will wait until I am told it is okay by the nut/dr but man o man, I'm ready!! My last meal actually consisted of a bottle of moscato and a HUGE bowl of popcorn....

    Food Porn ( Graphic)

I'll tell you this- if my sleeve can handle it I will 100% have movie popcorn again in my life! All things in moderation and I will certainly not be eating the entire bucket myself... But I will enjoy it. I chose sleeve so that I could have all things in moderation!

Problems Finding Foods I Like Post Op 1 Month

I too have gone through this. Chicken and eggs were pre-surgery favorites of mine. I can't handle either of them now no matter how they care prepared. Try experimenting with things you didn't enjoy before. I've found myself loving fish! I didn't not like fish before, but I'm now craving it. Shell fish too! Mmmm!

    Gained :(

1/4 of pound?? Why, that sounds like dust motes on the scale lol Girl you will be fine! Is your scale in the same spot? My weight can fluctuate 1-3 pounds depending on the spot of the floor. I've made sure I keep it in the same tile all the time.

Facial Hair & Hair Loss Question

I find tweezing in the car is the best place... All that natural light shows what you miss indoors... I'm horrified some days when I take a peek and see everything I missed!
  14. I hadn't had a period in over three months because of PCOS when I had my surgery. PCOS is also the biggest reason I decided to have this surgery. When my period came two days after coming home from the hospital I rejoiced! How weird is that!?!?
  15. My nutritionist has me mix my Protein shakes with 1% milk. I don't think I could manage to drink them if I was mixing it with Water. Yes- the milk adds some fats and carbs (which our bodies need anyway) but the milk also adds some more protein as well. Bottoms up! lol
  16. I didn't really plan on doing the gym thing until weight loss slowed down on it's own so I never asked my doctor how long before I could really start to work out.... How long did you guys wait (totally spelled that weight the first time haha) after surgery to do more then just walk? I'd love to walk outside but it is just so cold here in NY!

  17. Oh veggies- how I have missed thee!

Facial Hair & Hair Loss Question

At first I noticed my facial hair growing faster (dumb PCOS)... I'm not sure if it has slowed down yet or not. I believe more people don't start losing hair until about three months out. (I'm three weeks.) I do plan to buy a product from QVC called the Tria to help with the hair in places I don't want it. The reviews on it are positive enough that I'm willing to risk the money trying it. It isn't FDA approved for the face in the USA but in Europe it is.

    Emotional And Freaking Out

The three month process for me was filled with an inner peace because of my decision to have this surgery. Then I finally got the ok from insurance and I had a total melt down that night. It was a lot going through me mind. The unknown is scary! I cried so bad that night my sister held me and let me soak the front of her shirt! I even cried as they wheeled me into the operating room a little. It's okay to be scared and nervous- but don't let it scare you away. Today I am three weeks post op and down twenty-seven pounds since surgery! I would do it all over again in a heartbeat!
  21. Hey there girlie- I'm a white girl but man o man let me tell you I enjoy food from every freakin culture there is lol (well, minus the spicy). Welcome to VST- it has been a life saver for me! Good luck on your journey and don't be afraid to ask questions.
  22. I'd let your doctor know. The first few days for me I would chew ice chips and popsicle. For some reason doing those things were just easier for me then sipping. Also try doing different temperatures.. Ice cold, hot tea, room temperature.... I have found that at different times different temperatures work better for me. Also, if you are allowed it try jello. Those are all items that aren't "liquid" but count as fluids. Good luck!

Will We Have To Sip Forever?

I have made the mistake of drinking with some of my meals. I didn't conquer that particular issue well before surgery. It's painful. Also, not drinking with meals is for life
