I am 43, a wife, mom, new grandma, nurse and student. I have been overweight for as long as I can remember. I remember feeling like the fat girl in 7th grade and weighing 120 lbs at the time. I put on 60lbs with my first child and say I never lost it. I never had interest in sports or anything outdoorsy. I looked into bariatric surgery a few years ago and never went through with it. This time, I went through the process of lap band instead and wouldn't look back. I lost my initial weight and stalled. Now I want to get back in gear. I have been lingering on the site for a week or so getting some inspiration. I haven't had any support groups to talk to about what is normal and what isn't and my surgeon is 2 hours away. It's true what they say about getting in with a support group. I have been reading the post for info that others are going through and it is helping me. I want to get back to the gym and back on good eating habits. Thank you all for your post, words of encouragement and even your kick your butt comments to get going.
I have 4 children, 1 grown and gone and a 15 month old granddaughter who is my great joy. My youngest daughter is Autistic and I share in case anyone else has an Autistic child to share comments on. I have gone back to school to higher my education. I am a nurse in a medical office now.
