I was always self conscious growing up, because of my mom. She always worried about how fat she was, and when her and my father divorced she always blamed him cheating on the fact she was overweight. Even at 130 pounds, I thought I was huge, unattractive, but I was convinced that I would never be obese. I joined the Air force at 18, and after two years, I hurt my back during a training accident which caused me to be in a back brace for a year. This also caused me to be in bed a year = weight gain. A LOT of weight gain. About 80 pounds just in that year, and the number continued to go up. I use to be a runner, I was healthy, I was (mostly) happy. Now I am stuck. Because of the weight gain I cannot run, because I cannot exercise no diet really works, so Lap Band is my last resort. One that I am happy and proud to choose, currently waiting to see if insurance approves me!
