After years of unsuccessful dieting, I decided to look in to having the Lap Band placement. My wish was that it would help control my hypertension, headaches, and fatique as well as eleviate the extra pressure on my joints. For six months I attended nutrition counseling and had regular checkups with the surgeon, Dr. Alanis. In August 2009, the band was placed. I did not experience any side effects or ill feelings from my new companion. Over the past two years, I have painlessly lost 35 pounds while controlling the stress of working a 50+ hour job, caring for an extended family, and completing my formal education. I hope to lose an additional 40-50 pounds through additional determination and some hard work. I finally have the time to dedicate to making choices to lose the additional weight.
