Oh yeah! I check my measurements at every "official" weigh in, which is with my surgeon. If you have a smart phone, there is a great app called BodyShot that helps you keep track of your measurements, pics and such. See below for a screenshot of my results in inches as of my last appt on 10/9/12!

I Lost Over 150Lbs In Less Than 2 Years With My Lap Band
sHeLLaBee replied to Robyn2002's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Amazing! Thanks for sharing. It gives the rest of us hope. =) I'm a year out and 88lbs lighter, so I'm feeling pretty confident that I will also make my goal within 2 years. I have been told that is a lot for Lap Band, but it sounds like many of us have been really lucky and blessed by the Lap Band. Congrats on all your success! -
Thanks all!

Thanks ladies! I agree that as long as I continue to lose, I feel like slower is better. Less excess skin and not going through clothes so quickly! I am now out past a year and think it has balanced out some. My plan from here on out is to try and average a pound a month or more. It looks like you both have been doing great as well! Keep it up!

I'm late, but my weigh in on 11/8 was 190!
-
Good for you! 199 for me might as well have been 120! Haha. I felt like a million bucks, and it just keeps getting better. After a short plateau I have now broken 190 and am at 188! Keep it up girl!

I have been at the same weight for over a month. I have said in the past, "Oh, this must be my plateau." I had no idea. Not losing for a week is hardly a plateau. 6 weeks?! Yeah, I'd say I've reached that hurdle and am very prepared to jump it already! It's completely my fault. No exercise and pretty much eating whatever I want... Yuck. I quit. Back to the basics. Today is a new day and I am prepared to get back on track. I have to admit that where I am makes me very happy and if I stayed here for the rest of my life, that would be ok. Down to 191lbs from 276 is pretty amazing. I've dropped 6 dress sizes and even 2 shoe sizes! I'm loving life, but I do want more. Today is the day and I am back in this. Wish me luck!

October Spooktacular Challenge
sHeLLaBee replied to lisaholland73's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
192.2 At least it wasn't a gain, I guess. Ugh... -
Just heard about it this morning on LBT and decided I'm doing it! I've always wanted to run, but was too big in the hip area. Doc actually told me I could dislocate or break something if I tried. Still not small but I can get my jog on! So I started tonight. Day 1 of Week 1. It felt pretty good. I couldn't figure out how to get the app working at first (my volume was off, duh) but now that the little voice will actually tell me when to walk and jog I can be more accurate. Tonight I walked at a brisk pace and jogged as long as I could, usually 4-5 houses worth, but I did it as often as I could stand and I liked it! I took my hubbies baby (Daxx the minpin) with me because my 2 are too old for that amount of exercise, and he did great! Kept me motivated to keep up with him! ...and I felt safer having his little bark there to alert me through my headphones. Has anyone else started, or completed, this challenge? Any success stories? I will totally keep you guys updated everytime I jog and let you know how it goes and if I can hang. Hopefully it will help me get to my 100lbs lost mark by my bday!

Hair Loss 3 Month Banded
sHeLLaBee replied to tonyann's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also lost hair at 3-6 months. I also have a lot to spare, but it sure made me nervous! Your body goes into shock because of the amount of weigh loss. I think regardless of your daily vitamin regimen, it will probably happen to some extent. I started taking Opurity vitamins. They are made specifically for LapBand patients. Mine stopped once I started them, but that could be a coincidence. It will get better! Good luck! -

So, I'm coming up on my one year bandiversary in a few weeks, so I am not new to this. I've lost 81lbs that I am very proud of. =) For the last few days I have been getting stuck every single meal. I try veggies, fruit, protein, salad, soup even! Nothing wants to go down. So, I got desperate and tried something last night that I NEVER eat. Pizza. Of course it goes down quite easily and I am able to sleep after getting a little food in me. I wake up feeling very yucky this morning, of course, and the problem starts all over again. Oatmeal: stuck. Eggs: stuck. Chicken: stuck. A friend goes to McDonalds for lunch, which I also NEVER eat, and I ask him to get me a cheeseburger. I have finished about half and my body is happy that I have food in me, but I still feel very yucky. I haven't had the problem of getting stuck in forever. Not at all since my last fill, which was over 2 months ago. Even then, if something felt like it might I know to slow down and chew more, etc. I can usually catch it before it happens. These last 2 days have been horrible. I don't know what to do...
