I have a Lap-Band surgery was done 12/02 by Dr. Rumbaut. No problems at first had a second fill about 12 months after and it was too tight had it removed. Waited about 4 months had another fill everything was fine. Had a forth fill everything was fine for about two weeks after and then all hell broke lose and I had to have that removed. I have not had a fill since 2004. I am still having restriction and now I have GERD it just came on all of a sudden I wake up in the middle of the night coughing on my own vomit. I am taking meds for the acid and I have cut out coffee etc. Some nights it is fine other nights the same thing happens I find that I cannot lay on my stomach at night because I will wake up coughing. I am not sure what to do I cannot afford to have the band removed or fixed any suggestions. Michele

imtorb, I had a too tight fill and I was throwing up Water and my own saliva. After you have a fill they usually and should make you stay at the doctors office and drink some water. I knew right then and there that I need to have some taken out and I was going back and I let the doctor talk me out of it, saying that the barium was going down fine. Well I left ... always listen to your instincts they are right. I got in my car and had some water and it had a hard time going down. I suffered for three days .... lost 10lbs from my lack of being able to keep anything down and in the end all of my Fluid had to removed because I was swollen from the tight fill and all the throwing up. I hope I did not scare you too much .... I guess what I am trying to say is listen to your body it knows and ALWAYS, ALWAYS speak up if even water is having a hard time going down. Good luck with your first fill. :Bunny

Hello Everyone, A little about my self ... my name is Michele and I was banded in Mexico by Dr. Rumbaut on 12/17/02. So far everything is going well, I did have a little problem with my second fill in May, it was too tight and all the Fluid had to be taken out. I have not gained any of the weight that I already lost nor have I lost any more and I am looking to get a fill again ... but I just moved from Texas to Oregon and I have not had a chance yet to get a fill. Well I guess that is it in a nut shell ... I am glad to be here :Bunny

Hi Lori Thanks so much for the welcome and CONGRATS on your weight loss, where in Oregon are you? I live in Beaverton. I have lost 53 pounds so far. I am stalled at 53 because I had a fill in May and I was to tight and it caused a lot of swelling and all of the Fluid had to be removed. I am happy that I have not gained any weight. Where are you going for your fill? Anywhere in Oregon .... I need a fill doctor here. Take Care, :Bunny
