I had my surgery in Jan 2011. I lost 20 pounds prior to surgery, however, since then I have only lost an additional 30 pounds. I don't know if this is considered "normal" and, while I am happy that I continue to lose weight, I am discouraged by the slow process of it because I sometimes think that I could have easily lost 30 pounds in 8 months without going to such an extreme as surgery.
