I am a 25 year old Neuroscience RN looking to change my life. In 2007 I reached my lowest weight, 196 lbs a loss of 50 lbs...over the course of 2-3 years I gained 70 lbs back. Over the past couple of years I have struggled to drop the weight again. Each time feeling less and less motivated. I was always 100% against any bariatric surgery but after looking into it and realizing it is only a too to assist me in losing weight, I decided to look into it. I had my first educational seminar, first consulatation and was told by my insurance specialist that my insurance company wanted a 6 month supervised diet. Puh-leaze, that is only their ploy to try and get me to decide I don't want the procedure. News Flash: with a BMI of 45, I NEED the procedure! I think I have seen the doctor monthly (getting a weight and discussing weight loss). my primary Dr I have seen since I was a child and I have been overwight since age 6. I met with him on monday and we hashed out the details. He told me he was going to write the letter and try and make this happen. He has been so understanding and I really hope we can get this procedure done. At least by the End of Dec, Beginning of January. So I can start shedding this weight (mind you I have lost 10 lbs) and start living my life! I am engaged to a beautiful woman and I really want to start planning of wedding and life together...as healthy individuals!
