    Pizza

Another great thing that I allow myself to have sometimes is the burrito bowl with no rice from chipotle. It's 460 calories and 50 grams of protein. I literally eat on it all day. I could never eat a whole one in one sitting but sometimes 1 bowl is the only thing I will eat for the whole day. I love it. That calculation is for chicken, faj veggies, pico, cheese, black beans, and a tiny splash of sour cream

    Pizza

One of my favorite things to have is Jennie o ground turkey 93/7 wrapped in a lettuce wrap with black beans and salsa! Delicious! 285 calories and 32 grams of protein. That's for 4 oz of turkey , 1/2 cup black beans and 6 tablespoons of salsa. I get about 3 lettuce wraps out of that

    Coffee

I will not give up my morning coffee. I already gave up diet dr pepper. I would be evil without my coffee. I agree it makes me feel full. I have my first cup of coffee around 8am and I'm not usually hungry for food till around noon
  4. I love how on workout videos the host is like..... "oh doesn't that feel good".. And I'm on the floor screaming nooooooo!
  5. Lol!! I like to stick to my old school VHS videos lol. I do Jane Fonda step aerobics and I love my Cindy Crawford videos. Plus the Jane Fonda videos are hilarious cause everyone has 80's hair!
  6. I Had my first fill appointment scheduled for tomorrow. I called to reschedule and the lady seemed annoyed that i was rescheduling and made it clear that she wouldn't be able to get me in for a couple of weeks. The truth is, is that i'm just not ready for a fill so a couple of weeks is fine. I'm going to be 4 weeks post op this friday and my incisions are still a little sore. I'm experiencing no problems with hunger so it put me off a little why she seemed frustrated that i was rescheduling. My surgeon specifically told me to only get a fill if i absolutely need one. He said the less fills i have, the less chance for any complications. He prefers that i lose my weight without a fill. I lost 10 pounds pre op 5 pounds the 1st week after surgery, the 2nd week i didn't lose or gain anything, and last week i consistently have lost 1.5 to 2 pounds a day. I'm down almost 30 pounds so i'm not going to be forced into getting a fill. Just wanted to vent because it confused me as to why she seemed annoyed. It is my choice, isn't it?

    Broth.....ick ?

Won Ton soup(without the wontons of course) got me through. It's very flavorful and filling. I had someone pick it up for me from my favorite chinese restaurant. It was my saving grace.
  8. Wow!! Congratulations on your weight loss. That's awesome!! Thanks for the advice

    crunchy foods

I buy them at kroger. It's a grocery store. I'm sure u can also find where they are sold on their website. They are wonderful. I will have two wasa crackers with a wedge of laughing cow cheese for a snack. It keeps me satisfied for hours and it's 75 calories total

    crunchy foods

I use and my surgeon allows wasa crackers. They give u the crunch effect and literally dissolve in your mouth before u have the chance to swallow. They are long thin crackers and are 20 calories a cracker. I usually put tuna on top of mine. I love them!
  13. You and I have the same surgeon. I really like Dr. Fox and i trust his advice. My second week after surgery, the scale didn't move and i was like wtf?. lol I felt the same way. Last week was my 3rd week post up. I up'd my protein and water intake and i lost 1-2 pounds everyday last week. I try to walk on my treadmill everyday for 30 minutes at 2.4mph with 1.5 pound weights on my wrist. Dr. Fox said the goal is to get between 3.0 -3.4 mph on the treadmill. Not quite there yet. I cant do anything crazy workout wise because i'm still a little sore, but i am able to do some stuff.
  14. I agree. I've already had 1 post op appt. with my surgeon. I'm going to go my rescheduled after care appt. in 2 weeks even if i walk out without a fill. The lady i spoke to today told me that the only purpose of this appt was to get a fill so if i decide against a fill in 2 weeks, i will make another appt to see my surgeon just to make sure that everything is good.
  15. Thanks!! It's nice to hear from someone who has yet to have a fill. Even people i know personally who have lap band keep telling me, Oh you have to get a fill. I'm going to follow my surgeons advice and listen to my body. Congratulations on your success thus far. That's awesome.
  16. This may seem like a silly post but I cannot control my stomach growling. I mean it is loud and my co workers keep staring. I do not feel hungry and I've tried drinking water to shut it up but nothing is working. Does anyone have a suggestions?
  17. Oh I forgot to say I can't wait to sit in a booth at a restaurant. Everyone always wants to sit in a booth but has to sit at a table because I don't fit
  18. I want to bungee jump cause I'm above the weight limit right now, ride a roller coaster again, never have to step foot in lane Bryant, not being stressed about fitting in an airplane seat, swim with the dolphins in a cute wetsuit, go swimming without being embarrassed, wear jeans, rollover in bed with ease. Omg I could go on and on!
  19. I am not an expert on lapband and I'm only 18 days post op. However, my 6 months of pre op therapy allowed me to be educated and educate myself on the lap band. What I found during my research is that a HUGE majority of lap band patients who have complications is because the patient (not the doctor) did not follow directions. I think you should follow whatever plan your surgeon has given you. It's a short amount of time to follow instruction. I'm glad for you that you have not had any issues thus far.
  20. My surgeon allows me up to 1000 calories day but prefers that I don't hit that mark. Ive been able to keep it at 600 to 800 calories a day. I haven't had a fill yet and don't think I will at this point. I couldn't imagine eating 2500 calories a day and my band is empty. Wow! What does your surgeon say about it?
  21. I'm 18 days post op and the last couple of days I've had these waves of nausea. What is this? I'm sitting at my desk right now and it just hit me. I ate a little something and this helps for a short time but then it happens again. Am I just hungry? Has this happened to anyone else? Help! I have not thrown up since I've had my band and I don't want to but I feel like I could at any moment!
  22. I'm 2 weeks post op and i've lost 20 pounds. I was worried about the same thing you are. I eat very little amounts every 2 hours to try to avoid this. I figure if my body is getting food every couple of hours, it won't go into starvation mode. This seems to working for me because i've lost 20 pounds and i'm consuming about 600 calories a day.

    Liquid diet depression

When i started the mushy food stage it was the 1st and only time my surgeon would allow me to have mashed potatoes. So although it's not the best choice as you progress, it will be fine for the 1st few days of your mushy food stage. I was also allowed cream of wheat, thinned cream soups, sugar free pudding, plus the protein shakes. I'm just getting to start soft solids. Hang in there, it gets easier. I was going crazy when i was only on soup broth and protein shakes, so i know how you feel. I had an appt. with my surgeon on Wednesday and i asked him about refried beans because i have seen that posted on here a lot. He said he does not recommend them, especially from restaurants because they make them with lard. It's your choice but i'm gonna stay away from the refried beans.
  24. I was just banded on August 26, 2011. My insurance paid for everything and required the 6 months of pre op therapy. I have never had any type of surgery before so i'm healing very quickly but my appetite is also coming back fast. I'm not due for my first fill till sept. 20th. I'm not eating very much when i eat, i'm just eating more frequently. Is that normal? I've been eating pudding, cream of wheat, yogurt, soup and protein drinks. Today i'm allowed to start having bananas and strawberries. I'm craving something more solid but am afraid to try anything in fear of being miserable or throwing up. I haven't thrown up even once, but people have told me that happens sometimes when you first start out on solids. Is this true? I've lost 20 pounds and am so happy to finally have my band.
