Hi, so it's plain Greek yogurt any brand with a low carb buffalo sauce mixed in? Also, what is the name of the Southwest mustard? Thanks

I have always been fond of Williams-Sonoma but never knew they sold that type of item. I saw the price and just wanted an idea before purchasing but will give it a try. Thanks for your description.

Introduction-Lap Band to Gastric By-Pass Conversion
Trayjay33 replied to Jeneen B's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi, I had my conversion from Band to Bypass on 10/21/14 and I definitely can relate to your experience. I lost 30 pounds with the band including the pre-op diet but gained that and more back. My first Surgeon was not attentive to my vomiting every day and referred me for a second opinion and ended up not seeing me again. Both the GI MD and Surgeon said the band needed removal. I felt a weight off my abdomen as soon as I came out of surgery. I too had multiple adhesions. I have a ulcer right now post bypass but I am glad the band is out. The surgery lasted longer than they anticipated for the revision. I would never recommend anyone go to my original Surgeon. Hopefully this revision works out. So far 30 pounds lost. I think revision they say lose slower. It's trial and error especially with the ulcer figuring out what to eat. But it's coming along. Good luck to you. -

Help! Developed peripheral neuro palsy !
Trayjay33 replied to BypassKrista's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Did they say if it was caused from the surgery? Were you referred to a Neurologist? I think you definitely need more answers since you didn't have this issue before surgery. I had really bad back pain after surgery and my Doctor kind of brushed it off. It has subsided for the most part now but I think insurance pays a hefty amount to these Surgeons that the follow-up care needs to be detailed. Don't be afraid to advocate for yourself even if you have to call everyday. I wonder about positioning during your surgery and long term prognosis. Did they do a MRI of your back? -

How many of you find you eat faster than recommended?
Trayjay33 replied to Notinks's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Thanks, that's good to know. I will chew more but not feel guilty about it if I don't take a long time to finish a small meal. -

I agree, I find I don't take that long to finish my meals. I have to practice chewing my food more but I guess practice makes perfect. Good luck to you. -
When Does Malabsorption Rate Decrease or Disappear
Trayjay33 replied to bakawaka's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm no expert but I would think the fact that Gastric Bypass patients have to take Vitamins for life due to malabsorption that information is not totally accurate. Stretching the stomach may be a bigger issue. I look at various websites such as medscape but here's a link to Hopkins. Good luck. http://m.hopkinsmedicine.org/healthlibrary/test_procedures/gastroenterology/gastric_bypass_malabsorptive_surgery_procedure_92,P07988/ -

Congrats on your weight loss and I wish you continued success. It's really important to get those sources of protein in. I will be a week post-op Tuesday and realize how hard it is but oh so important. Thanks for sharing about your journey. -
Thank you, it's very helpful to know they have a pro series.

Good job! You look great. I'm looking forward to my journey soon and hope I do as well. -
I had my 3rd fill on 5/23 and today 5/26 I feel as though I have not received a fill. The fill was adequate at the time and I felt restriction but now I am having severe cravings. My question is could restriction be lost so quickly and why? Thank you for your responses.

Make Sure Ur Head Is Right First..otherwise
Trayjay33 replied to elirules's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sorry you think you've failed but it is just that...a thought. You should consider working with a Psychiatrist to get your depression under control if it's not currently. They may also be able to help you with your feelings of embarrassment and failure. When you have done that you will hopefully have the motivation and drive to see your Surgeon and start losing the weight again. Like the previous posts have mentioned you regained half not all of the weight. It's important to look at the positives and not focus on the negatives. -
Scar Tissue At Port Site
Trayjay33 replied to angelblessed's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm sorry to hear that as there is a risk of Keloid development with any type of puncturing the skin. I have a history of keloids especially my ears so that was one of the first things I asked my Doctor prior to surgery. I now have a keloid at two of the smallest incisions but there is no overgrowth of scar tissue by my port. I do know in speaking to my Doctor that there are treatments that could be done for the scar tissue. Have your Doctor discussed these with you? Regards -
No I do not get satisfaction after a small meal at this time. I can eat more than the 4oz that is recommended. That's also why my MD gave me the fill initially. I felt great after the fill, my appetite was under control and I felt I was in the green zone but it lasted so shortly. It was only a small fill because I had one two weeks prior. But it also worked only for a short time. It makes sense the swelling is starting to subside so maybe in a month my MD will give me another fill and that will do the trick. Now is time for more will power to maintain my appetite. Thank you everyone.

Low Ferritin And Iron Levels In 'lap Band' Surgery Patients
Trayjay33 replied to susyq55's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have had times where my Ferritin level decreases but my Hgb remains within normal limits for some time. After a while if the Iron deficiency is not treated the Hgb begins to decrease also. Since having surgery my doctor is concerned that my Ferritin may be even more affected due to the band. I go for blood work this weekend. Here is a article that I found interesting about gastric banding and anemia. http://www.anemia.org/professionals/feature-articles/content.php?contentid=438§ionid=15 Hope the link works. -
Drainage In The Port Site.
Trayjay33 replied to JohannaMae's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my surgery 2/15/12 and about a week after I started to get drainage from the largest incision closest to the port site. It was a yellowish and bloody drainage. My doctor said there is a sac of fluid in that area and as it heals some may come out. He did however start me on antibiotics as a precaution for 10 days and had me keep the area covered with a dressing. It has since healed with no problems. Hope this helps.
