    New foods tried after surgery...

@@wvugal, it looks yummy and I was a pasta lover as well. This seems like it would be a great but healthy alternative.

    How about some NSVs!?!?

I'm not sure if this is a NSV but it was surprising. I usually put my hair bands around my wrist so I would have it handy. When I was overweight I would have to take it off shortly after putting it on because it would start squeezing my wrist. Today I realized I could keep it on all day but also when I pulled up my long sleeve shirt my hair band pulled up to my upper arm and I didn't realize it until I was looking for it to put in my hair. I guess my upper arm has gotten quite a bit smaller.

    New foods tried after surgery...

I think I've been limiting myself too much. I am actually bored with my diet right now but these sound delicious.

    Anyone similar stats?

I have similar stats to yours, I'm female 5'6" started at 256 and 254 after pre-op diet. I am 11 months post-op almost and about 138 pounds. Everyone is different but its achievable. I actually dumbed my weight loss down and said 150 to my Doctor and 130 to his assistant but they both said its doable with RNY so it's reasonable. Congratulations on your upcoming WLS.
  9. You look great and I agree with the previous poster it seems like you lost more than 65 pounds. Either way good job!
  10. I actually don't, I lost a lot of weight in my 20's and didn't know what to do with myself. Lol. Let's just say being more mature now I can handle myself with dressing modestly. I try to live without regret and believe things happen for a reason.

    What did your breast's do?

@@Dream4tc I have my one year surgical follow-up next month and I will discuss inform my surgeon about this issue. There are so many things involved in breast augmentation as well that I may not be ready for right now i.e. an additional surgery and subsequent change to my body. But still this may be a discussion to have. In the mean time and $170 later I have new bras and some support. ????

    What did your breast's do?

I like that "false advertising" lol. I am down quite a bit of sizes and I have very saggy breast tissue. My band size is small a 32 but the breast fat that has to be scooped up in a bra is a H cup...go figure. I don't know about breast augmentation but my back hurts and it's a sad sight.
  17. @@James Marusek, thank you for sharing your articles. I am entering the maintenance phase soon and I have been wondering about the process. As usual you explain things well and it has helped me tremendously.

    Not a mistake after all

Naomi, I am sorry to hear about your complication after surgery but I am glad you are on the mend. I am also happy you were able to speak to your surgeon and have questions answered. P.S. My legs are where I lost weight first too. I no longer need wide calf boots. It just makes for more options. I hope you have a awesome journey with RNY.
  19. I just turned 37 and I am almost a year post-op.

    OCTOBER 2014

    Wow!!! You look great. Congratulations!!!
  21. My doctor didn't seem to think a high B-12 count is a problem. Which is great news! That is definitely good news! ????
  22. I have suffered from severe fatigue for most of my post-op period and at almost 10 months out it doesn't seem to be improving. I had blood work done to check vitamin, thyroid panels, blood counts levels and it came back "normal". My diet has been adjusted several times to increase calories and protein. Nothing helps at this point and the tiredness is so overwhelming at times. Please if you have dealt with tiredness and have it under control will you share how you managed it? Thank you.
  23. Just a thought I had to have several medications for some medical conditions adjusted post surgery due to the malabsorption my pills were not as effective post surgery as they were pre-op. For sleep there are other things that can be done if your Doctor agrees. Sleepy time tea, relaxation sound machines, scent machines and other options could be looked into. Regarding eating more and stalls. Our bodies go through times that the weight loss does not show on the scale and/or food adjustments need to be made. I would suggest investing in a measuring tape to see if inches are coming off. Try on clothes that were tight before to see if they are getting loosely. Find other ways to motivate yourself and use this new advantage that surgery has given you. Pills just like RNY are just tools the real work comes from us. Good luck with everything.
  24. Hi. Lol, I rarely use the main site and I am not up to date with all the latest computer lingo so I had to think what a avi was. Since I use so many apps including Bariatric Pal as an App I have not updated my stats. I don't get that information on the APP or know how to access it. I logged on the main site and I see it wasn't updated so I will update it. As of today in case you don't see it I am female 5'6", down about 113 pounds since surgery.
  25. Too much of a good think isn't good either I guess.
