My name is Jatoya.. im 20.. & i've always been heavy, its something i have always been battling with since as far back as i can remember. I've lost some wieght on my own but it never last. When I was pregnant, with my now 18 month-old daughter, i gained 50lbs and i haven't been able to get it off leaving me at 250 :(... Soon after my sister had gotten the Lap-Band procedure, and that's what sparked my interest... First, before I decided to jump to a rash decidsion, i tried 1 last diet, Alli, it didnt work out for me at all! I hated having to carry around all this weight, thats when i told my doctor and she put in the authorization, and i found out i had Sleep Apnea. It actually was a surprise to me even tho my boyfriend told me that i would stop breathing in my sleep sometimes, its just different to hear it officially from a doctor. I was shocked yet relieved at the same time, shocked because i had this condition, and relieved because now i have a reason to get the procedure and have a better life for my daughter. So far i've completed all the requirements to get authorized for the procedure.. and i finally schedual a surgery date! Sept 16, 2011! So so so so excited to actually be doing this! To Be Continued...
