Weight Gained Since Having Gastric Sleeve Surgery
AutumnLily replied to sleeve 4 me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I fluctuate during the week within the 5 lbs but always have had a loss. Some weeks more than others but it has been a downward trend for me for now. -
You are looking sexy hot!!!

Anyone else still "see" themselves at their old weight?!!
AutumnLily replied to VSGandMe2011 (DisneyMomma)'s topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Some days I do and others I do not. I went and bought some new shirts the other day and thought I will get size X so that I can grow down to them. I got home and tried them on to see how they looked and they fit really nice. I was shocked and amazed that I looked thin in these shirts. I would buy more but that would be a waste of money as I still have a lot to lose. -
Scared of going to Mexico alone
AutumnLily replied to iboprincess's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I did it alone and I prefered it that way. No one for me to worry about being bored as I slept. I was able to concentrate on me which was good. I would say pack really light and if you can have your luggage with wheels so that it makes it easier to pull. Other than that you are stronger than you may think. Plus you will meet other people having the same surgery who you can talk with if you so feel inclined to do. -

From 300+ to Onederland!
AutumnLily replied to Lindsey's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Holy you are almost at goal!!! Congratulations what an amazing transformation. I am hoping to look as fit and sexy as you are when I finally reach below 200. Congrats again!!! -
Try warm tea that is caffeine free. I found the warmth settled my tummy down. Then I was able to drink room temp water. Took awhile for me to really handle cold water.

Tired after protein shake
AutumnLily replied to Nancy Rivers's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Every so often when I have increased sugary food I have to lay down for a nap after 30 mins eating. I sleep for an hour and then feel better. I am sure it is the sugar that is doing it to me. Best to try the protein with water see if its the protein. Do you get this rxn when you drink milk by itself? -
I met my first goal today
AutumnLily replied to Oopsseedaisy's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories

You weigh less than me and You better not weigh less than me!!
AutumnLily replied to lsereno's topic in Rants & Raves
If they stop seeing you because you have lost weight. Then they were never real friends and its good to find that out now instead of later. Better to find true friends in life than waste time with people who were never really your friend. -
Newbie...introduction....
AutumnLily replied to Gastronaut's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Well I had an insatiable appetite. I would eat till bursting and then an hour later I would eat more. And it was not always junk food. I could gorge on meat and potatoes, rice you name it I probably ate way more than a normal person should eat. I would think about food most of the time, preplanning what I was going to eat for my next meal or the meals the next day. I was sleeved almost 6 months ago. I eat 4 times a day and on occasion have a small evening snack. All my meals are small and very satisfying. I do not think about food all the time like what am I going to eat for supper (you know what I mean). Now I live I drink plenty of Fluid and my body loves me for it. I have been slowing down with my weight loss lately (lose1-3 lbs a week vs my 5 lbs a week). I knew it was going to come and now I am figuring out a work out schedule (as I still have not started any major exercise yet). I do walk and I can run up the stairs now but I need to get in more exercise. That being said I am past the hunger. I know what feeling full means and not wanting another bit of food for several hours. I am happy that I self payed and got the sleeve. I will be successful at getting to goal and keeping the weight off. Congratulations on starting your journey to a healthier new you. -
Congratulations!!! As others have mentioned check with Tiffykins as she is preggers as well.

I am here and a little freaked
AutumnLily replied to HDubSleevery's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I went by myself there was another person in the van but he was not a social person. He took off the instant we got to the hotel. So I ate alone in the downstairs diner. It was an enjoyable meal and yes it would have been nice to have someone to talk to but I did come alone. At the hospital there were people that came the day after me and I got to talk with them (they were much nicer and sociable ). I stayed an extra day at the hotel (already planned as I could not get a flight on my discharge day) and rode back to San Diego with them. Just go room to room and introduce yourself. -
Interal Stitch poking through incision...
AutumnLily replied to Tara B's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had one and I kind of pulled it and then cut it close to the skin. I wanted the skin to heal so that there was not entry point for infections to get in. -
Labor Day - WHAT WILL YOU WEIGH???
AutumnLily replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
SN...................start weight........................current.................goal................lbs to goal Autumnlily,...........269.2..................................255.2...............240....................15.2 I forgot to post last week so it looks like I had a really big loss, which I didnt. But I am still losing just a little slower than before. I do not think I will make the labour day challenge but I am going to get as close as I can. -
I take a multi and 1000mg cal cit a day with vit D. I also take a b12 but only on every couple of days. I will get my levels checked for my 6 month coming up and will see how everything is measuring up.

Have you been prescribed a PPI for your GERD? If so you may need to change types if it is not working. Sounds like you are expending a lot of calories and not bringing in too much. So your body is probably in starvation mode. I found the first 2 months were a guessing game as to how much exercise and how many calories and my Water intake to optimize my weight loss. Now that I am further out things are slowing down a bit and I will have to readjust again to boost my weight loss.

Not agreeing with the surgeon.
AutumnLily replied to kygal1982's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a high BMI and doing really great with the sleeve. I wanted the sleeve vs the bypass because I did not want problems with eating certain foods or having to take a million Vitamins and minerals the rest of my life. Plus no being able to take certain kinds of drugs. I love my sleeve and know that I will be able to maintain my weightloss. Note: if you check SammyNYC post the signature line has the date of surgery posted as 11/23/2010 -
how much damage i'm i doing???
AutumnLily replied to cutie pie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think I was in the same boat for a while at 2 weeks out. I tried to see how I could boost my calories as I could barely get in 400. As time progressed it got easier. I would say for the interum it is ok but for the long haul you would not want to be at that amount of calories. As yes it will do harm to your body over time. Take it easy and try to slowly build your calories up. You will notice that your energy will be low on that low of calories. -
20 Mi Hiking & NO LOSS!
AutumnLily replied to losingitin2012's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Maybe you lost fat but gained muscle . Sounds like you are on the dreaded 3rd week stall. Try not to let it get you down too much. You will soon see a downward movement on the scale. -
eating too much!!! what do I do to stop?
AutumnLily replied to mindyloohoo's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Just a note your nerves in your stomach have been cut and you will NOT feel a full signal for the first while. It takes a bit to feel it. So please measure your food and only eat the recommended portion your doctor or nut wants you to eat. You do not want to over eat and cause a leak. About the PPI I have heard several people talk about nexium not working for them. I was prescribed prilosec 20 mg (omeprazole is the generic name). And it works great for me. Try to get your PPI changed and it should hopefully help with the hunger. The first while is a real learning curve on figuring out how to eat drink etc... -
You could go to your PCP and get your "yearly physical" done and have your weight recorded there. That way it can be taken care of and you can have baseline tests done to compare as you progress with the weight loss.

BIG secret... good or bad?
AutumnLily replied to indy sleever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I only confided my surgery to my personal doctor here and all of the people on this forum. Other than that I went to Mexico by myself and left a note as Foxbins did in case something happened. When I got home I told my immediate family and told them it was to go no further than them. I have family and friends that are real horrible gossips so I will not provide the fodder for their gossip. It is personal preference for each and every person.
