    questions about further out

If you do not follow your consumption of Water you could become dehydrated. I hear that can be a part of getting kidney stones. If you do not get the Vitamins and minerals you need from food you will have to take supplemets. If you do not take or get appropriate amounts of vitamins and minerals then you can get Vit B12, B1, Iron, Calcium deficiencies. They and lead to anemia, B12 deficiency can lead to pernicious anemia. So always stay hydrated and take your supplements. Lily
  2. I am still working on the date but so far it is now looking like the 21 Feb. May get moved if I can not Iron out the problems. Lily

    Only 2 days left

Funny how the mind will play on your thoughts and fears in your dreams. I know when I am stressed or anxious my dreams are so weird. I hope you are able to find a happy place in your thoughts to calm your nerves. Lily
  4. What an inspiration I have to say Congratulations on getting to goal! I hope you keep us updated on your journey now that you are at goal. Lily
  5. I have had it happen to me after other surgeries. I hated eating chips for a year after I had my gallbladder out (taste was gross). Now my tastebuds are back. So I wonder if it has something to do with anesthetic in your system or what. Lily

    AARRGGHHH swallowing pills

There is a liquid calcium made by Wellesse. It is calcium citrate with Vit D and it tastes not too shabby. I found it at costco but I am sure you will find it other places. Lily
  11. I was curious have they confirmed your date for the 17 Feb? Or are they waiting for next years schedule still?

    1 month out

Are you allowed scrambled eggs? Slice of lunch meat like ham, turkey, chicken? How about cream cheese or laughing cow cheese (not sure if you get that in the states. Chicken or beef broth or the packet from Ramen noodles (DO NOT eat the noodles just the packet). Peanut Butter (1 tbsp) with a scoop of Protein powder (called a sludge) I can not remember who suggested that on here but I sure have remembered that. Are you allowed soft flakey fish fillets? Tuna in the can mixed with dill pickle relish. I am not sure what stage of foods you are at but you can judge as to what you can have now and what you will have to wait to have. Lily

    1 in 200 die ?

Well I have had 2 of the 3 suggested and I never even had the idea of death cross my mind for either. Kind of puts me at ease for the surgery. Thanks Julia Lily
  14. I have not got a confirmation but I was penciled in to arrive the 21 and surgery on the 22 of Feb. We will be missing each other by a couple of days. But we can be sleeve buddies if you like.

4 Days and a wake up

How about making smaller goals. Instead of thinking you cannot make it another day. How about set the goal of making it to the evening. Then set the next small goal to achieve. Breaking it down will make it seem more manageable. I am not sure about how you are feeling as I have not made it to my surgery or even pre-op. I can say that just know in your heart that you have made it 4 days what a great accomplishment. Think of how it is only 1 more day and then you will be doing your labs. You can always come here for help with any issue, even one of just needing an emotional boost. Keep up the great work and keep us posted on your progress. Lily
  16. Which complications are you meaning? I have heard of more complications with the band than I have for the sleeve. Lily

    What are my chances???

I think feedyoueye has a great idea. Put off the 2nd surgery until you know that you do not need the second part of the surgery. I am sure if you show great progress with just the sleeve your doctor will not continue with the second part. Lily

Solid food on hold - indefinitely?

Will you have to blend your food so that you get more variety for the time being? I feel for you and all that you are going through, but investing in the health of your mouth is just as important as investing in the health of the rest of your body. I am sending my prays to you. Lily
  21. Keep up the great work and keep us posted of your progress. Congratulations on your success so far. Lily

15 weeks post op! With PICTURES!!!!

People always put down others to make themselves feel better. They have low self esteem and need to bring others down with their negative comments. I would suggest trying to not listen to what others say and truly know that you look beautiful inside and out. I know it is hard to ignore the comments but try to push it aside and not let them rule how you feel. Only you can let them make you feel bad. So keep your head up and push the negative comments out and just remember that you are doing great and will continue until you feel you have achieved the goal that you want. Lily
