    Pregnant??

Congratulations! I am happy for you :-)
  2. We are on the same day with Dr Aceves! I know the panic and excitement after I paid for my plane tickets.
  3. Might be possible that the meats are too dense right now for your newly healing stomach. You might want to stick to softer and less dense foods.

    Prayers please

I do not have coverage so I am a self payer. I have scrounged and saved to get the money and have also taken out loans. I feel this is important enough to bring on a bit more debt and I will figure out the details of paying it off later. Health is more important to me now than money!

    anybody seen Christy?

Are you talking about Crafty Christie? I follow her blog and she has been super busy the past couple of months. I am sure when things slow down for her she will be back. If this is the Christy you were asking about.

    Vitamin D deficiency

Vit D is fat soluble maybe take your pills/gummies with cheese. Also if you are out in the sun your skin should make Vit D but you need to get sun often (do you live somewhere sunny?) Maybe increase food intake that contains Vit D. Not sure what is the next step, possibly giving you something to help your body process the vit D.

    Can I be completely honest?

Hey just wanted to let you know if you drink cranberry juice it will help prevent the UTI. The cranberry will make your pee more acidic AND it has a chemical (think its tannins but do not quote me) coat the inside of your bladder and the bacteria can not take hold. And then they are flushed out when you pee. Just an easy preventative step for those horrible UTI's.
  10. Thank you Kris! Gives me a whole insite into what I should expect in Feb.
  11. If one does not watch what they eat there is the possiblitiy of regaining weight. Like if a post sleever has a 3000 calorie drink every day that will definitily affect the weight. As long as you use this tool prpperly for life you should not have to worry about regaining all your weight and then some. What evidence has the DS forum persons shown that after so many years the weight is regained?
  12. Congratulations! Keep up the great work.

    Fath, Hope and Prayers

It was a long and bumpy road to get where you are wanting to be. I think it will have been worth the extra mileage! Congratulations.
  16. My preop diet is to be High protien very low carbs for 2 weeks before the surgery. I have been trying to cut back my carbs and increase my protein almost 2 months before my surgery. I find slowly cutting back the carbs are easier on my mind.

    Everyone Says Something Different!

I would think the density of the food would have something to do with it. Some foods will slide right through where as others like tough meat may be in there for quite a bit longer. So that would make it not so cut and dry as to the time. This is only a hypothesis and not actual fact on my part.

11 weeks post op and confused!!

Seems that most sleevers are bound to stall lots are as early as 3 weeks post op. I think your body is trying to heal it self as well as figure out what the heck has happened. The increase in calories is probably good for you in the long run. Your body will adjust and start to lose again.

    First Goal

You have done really well. You are almost to goal and it doesnt look like you need to lose any more. You definitly are an inspiration to us unsleeved folks.
  21. There is surgery to repair the esophageal sphincter (opening to your stomach) that was allowing gastric juices to come up. And the recovery will be the same as VSG, no lifting or extrenuous activity for 1 month, Fluid then mushy then small amounts of food. Just say you have very bad GERD and need it to be surgically repaired.
  22. AutumnLily

    Another surgery question...

I have heard that some Dr's do the spinal block for VSG. But a veteran sleever should be able to answer this question better than me. Definitly shouldnt be doing a tap cause they would be looking for menigitis and well you don't want that.

    Help with simple thing

Ohh and if you like a specific one just check the tickers that people already have. The companies seem to put their names on them. The one I am using right now is by Daisypath.

    Help with simple thing

There are several free sites that you can go to get a ticker. If you google weightloss tickers you can find some that are free and others that you have to sign up for a free program to get the ticker. Hope this helps.
  25. I have thought many of the same things you have in the past couple of months. That is why I purchased my plane tickets without a refund available. Just to give me the extra courage as time gets closer and I start to act more and more like a chicken. I know this is what I need and I look back at all the failed attempts at keeping my excess weigth off. 2011 is the year of positive change in my life.
