I left my stomach in Mexicali

Ok it was the drugs! I was basically out of it the first day (entire day). I was the first to get the surgery and I think I remember the doctors coming and checking on me through out the day but all I was able to manage was opening one eye and then I was out again. Too bad you were in a noisy area my room was behind/beside the nurses station. Keep on posting and if you do start a blog let us know. I really enjoy your rendition of this process.
  3. I would just say to them when they start up. Im sorry when did you become an allmighty powerful God that you have any input or say into what I do with MY body! Maybe you might want to concentrate on your own life and let me concentrate on mine. Ok maybe I am sarcastic but I get sick an tired of thes "know-it-alls" that know what you should do with your life and theirs is not perfect. Hope things settle down for you. I made a conscience decision to not tell anyone but my immediate family for these vary same reasons.

    CAULIFLOWER PIZZA

I did not own a processer/bullet at the time so the quick and cheap way for me was to grate it. Now I have a bullet so I will try your way. Thanks

  7. I made it out of the 50 BMI on Friday now to make my first goal 299.8!

  8. TQ the gas everyone is talking about is the gas that is pumped in to expand your abdomen to allow the doc to work. Only prob is they can not take it out. So it has to dissapate through your body. Some people have a hard time and others like me only had one bad day with the gas, and I was pretty much out of it for most of it.

My first foray into fast food

Yes it is nice to know that we will be able to eat anything at the end of this. It will be in moderation and only time to time as I have to be aware of what I put in due to the small quantities I can take in.

    Almost a Year Has Passed

Congratulations! Your story gives me the spriit life that I needed. I am just over a month out now and just starting to feel normal.
  15. It does get better as you get farther out. Congratulations on your success so far!
  16. Your first week do not worry about getting in your protien. What you need to worry about is getting in fluids. Just sip sip sip and when the swelling goes down then start to add protein in.
  17. First of all Congratulations! Second you will need to up your calories and get out of ketosis for the sake of the baby. That being said the baby will take their nutrients from you and you will most likely still lose weight while the baby gains weight. I would not be discouraged with your weightloss it will happen. Right now the baby needs the proper nourishment to grow. Keep us posted on your progress with the weightloss and the baby .

    Cold Drinks/Food

Only thing that bothers me about cold drinks is that I feel it going down my esophagus and into my stomach. Its a weird sensation for me. But no pain or other aversion to the cold.

    how does the vsg resolve....

I am not sure but I think it has to do with first of all losing weight and second of all the decrease of sugars and carbs in your diet that you body tends to ignore now. Your body will be able to respond the the lower amount of sugar in your blood and deal with it appropriately. I personally am not diabetic so I am just guessing. I am sure other sleevers who were type II diabetics will chime in with their answers.

    100 lbs. In 4 months?

It really all depends on your body and what it will allow for loss. Most people keep their calories between 600- 800 calories and carbs under 40grams with Protein above 60-80 grams. Some exercise with swimming, walking, treadmills, ellipticals other machinery, getting a personal trainer, dancing... you get the idea basically to get moving and doing what you like. Set a realistic goal and work from there. You never know you might just surpass your goal in the 4 - 6 months time. Better to set yourself up for being overwhelmed and happy at surpassing your goal than missing it and becoming depressed.
  23. How much weight do you need to lose? How many calories and what kind of foods are you eating ie carbs, fats and Protein? If you provide us with what you are eating on a daily basis plus how much weight you have to lose we might be able to help figure this out. As Tiff said do you have any disorders that would interfere with the weight loss?
  24. You are doing great! Keep up the great progress.

    100 lbs. In 4 months?

Sundar it really depends on how much weight you have to lose in the first place to lose 100 in 4 or 6 months. Normally men lose faster (must be the extra muscle they have). Those that have more weight to lose will lose what seems like large numbers but maybe we should all look at it like % excess weight needed to lose. Usually around 6 to 8 months most of the sleevers will have lost approximately 50% of their excess body weight. So if you need to lose 300 vs 80 lbs the person needing to lose up to 300 should be able to lose their 150 lbs and 80 lb person 40. But everyone is different and those that need to lose (inset your excess weight here) lbs some do it in a shorter or longer amount of time. The body will do as it pleases. Treat it right and you will eventually reach your goal.
