The egg drop soup needs to be strained and only have the broth. The noodles will not be good for you or your tummy. You are probably on the clear fluids or full fluids and you can tell if you can see through them they are clear and if you can not see through them (milk) they are full liquid. Any solid (even noodles) should be avoided at this point in time.

Congratulations!!! You are rocking that sleeve. Keep up the great work. -
Chapstick was a good thing to have. Oh and Gas X as you can not buy it in Mexico, I personally did not use mine and the box remains unopened but most others used theirs. I would think for travel back have something for nausea just in case you need a pill and it would be hard to find that at the airport (or it would be pretty jacked up in price). Comfy pajama's are always high on my list and loose fitting comfortable pants and top for the travel home. Hope this helps a bit.

Just a note unflavoured does not mean it has no taste. It means there is no chocolate or vanilla or strawberry flavour. If you are having problems getting down Proteins due to taste you will most likely NOT like unflavoured. Just an FYI. I like pretty much all the flavoured proteins and am having trouble with getting the unflavoured down. It leaves a weird taste in my smoothies. I think I will just bake with it or something to use it up.

Try to stay positive as much as you can. Sending all my prayers that it turns out benign. My sister many years ago had surgery and they used disolvable stitches internally. A year or two after the surgery she found a lump in her breast and went off to have it checked out. It turns out the lump was the stitches. Her body could not dissolve them properly and had balled up the foreign material and was making its way out of her body. It ended up in her breast. The doctor went in a removed the lump. Here is hoping for something other than "c".

Day 2 of Liquid diet and co-workers are eating ribs
AutumnLily replied to Husky2Healthy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had to do a low carb pre op diet of one week so not as bad as your 2 week liquid diet. After surgery I would call my folks to talk to them and they would start describing the food they were eating and would make lip smacking yummy sounds. I had to tell them to stop it. Its almost like if you have a sore arm someone is going to come up and smack that arm kind of thing. Keep positive and you will have started you journey downwards from the pre op diet. So that is a bonus! -
Does anyone else not take calcium citrate?
AutumnLily replied to groovearmada's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
As Tiffykins said you can take it but you need to have an acidic environment in your stomach to take it. It is a poor form of Calcium. I hope you find something that works. I have a really good liquid one from Costco made by wellesse. -

Did I fail the sleeve?
AutumnLily replied to rossonmarcus's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Can you give a daily run down of what you eat? Like how many carbs, Protein, your Water and Vitamin intake. Do you have any metabolic disorders that would cause you to be a slow loser? Do you know the size of bougie your doctor used to "size" your stomach? Have you tried the 5 day pouch test? That being said your sleeve will stretch a bit. Sleevers that are over 1 year have said they can eat more than they could at 2-3 months post op. I am not sure about getting resleeved or ways to shrink the sleeve. The 5 day pouch test is more of a get yourself off carbs and kick start your loss again. Have you consulted with your doctor? If you answer some of these questions the veteran sleevers will be able to make suggestions that may help you. -

Weird Food Cravings
AutumnLily replied to MrWillard's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I craved cheese also!! I even went to the trouble to chew up a piece to get the taste then spit it out. Liquid phase had me craving foods and the most vivid dreams about food also. It did pass when I got to mushies. -
Did you take a left at Albuquerque? That is where bugs bunny always goes wrong Ok enough of my being silly off to find your update post.

How did you tell friends & family about having WLS?
AutumnLily replied to ginajeans's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I told no one pre surgery and after surgery I only told my immediate family. I do not want the negative ignorant comments from people. I had a friend who has WLS a little while back and the rude comments that were said behind her back (never to her face) just boiled my blood. So they can speculate but several months before surgery I started cutting out carbs, increasing my Protein and talking about exercising. They can attribute all this hard work I am doing without knowing I have one extra very helpful tool. That I am so glad I got it! Everyone is different and so to each their own as to the reasons for telling or not. Hope you find the best choice for you. -

Leaving on a jet plane....
AutumnLily replied to Noel Bleakney's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think most people have their doubts about having the surgery due to the "what ifs". I did until I researched the heck out of the surgery. I reassured myself that this was my best option and that I had to either go through with it and have a good chance at becoming healthy or remain obese the rest of my life. As you can see I chose health. I think it is normal to be afraid. You will do fine. Just remember to walk walk walk and sip sip sip. See you on the losers bench.
