  1. ME! I was wondering if I was the only one. My surgery isn't scheduled until the Feb 22nd.

    Is There A February Group

Feb 22nd! 4 weeks and 4 days from now. Can't wait to lose this weight.
  3. I look forward to wearing shorts again. Short ones, not capris.
  4. First, take a deep breath. Second, go to youtube and review some of the VSG videos for inspiration. Third, pray, take a relaxing bath, drink some warm Soup, take a walk, play with your kids, read a book (or listen to one on tape) Fourth, write down a meal plan. Look at your doctor's instruction. Google "liquid Diet" for help. Make sure you have those items on hand. Do anything to keep your mind straight right now. Even though I am preop too, these things help me relax. YOU CAN DO THIS!
  5. TeeHee.... You know what I'm talking about!

    It's About That Time...

See you on the losing side! Be well.

  8. LOL to all the previous post! Same here. My co-workers always ask me why I only wear black! I can't wait to get into a flowy white dress too. This reminds me of a time when me and my friend were going out. I got dressed in a black shirt, my famous gray sweater (the one that looks like a poncho) and my boots. I thought I was really cute until my friend told me I looked like an "old librarian" or a "school marm!" Needless to say that I changed clothes! When I looked in my closet, all my clothes were black or gray or "librarian". '' I CAN NOT WAIT TO BE ABLE TO FIT CUTE CLOTHES! In the meantime I am drooling over all you guy's pictures.
  9. I am so excited to have my surgery, but I also feel the exact same way as you do. Right now I do not have major health issues and somehow I feel that this surgery will cause a slippery slope of other problems, all in my Quest for a skinnier, albeit healthier, body. But I also realize that if I allow myself to gain more weight, then the weight-related health issues WILL start sooner or later. So for me, I view it as me being proactive rather than reactive as in the case of others who have no other choice to save their lives. I'm sure that many others had these same pre-surgery thoughts, that's why I'm glad that, at least, we have this forum to discuss our fears, our hopes, and to Celebrate with like-minded people. In the meantime, I will continue my daily prayer that I am doing the right thing and also pray that God sees me through this surgery complication-free and that I don't pick up any new ailments because of it (including losing my gallbladder!). 1. It is a lot of money. But spending it on your health is worth it. You can put your vacation on layaway after the surgery (call a travel agent LOL) 2. See above concerning being proactive rather than reactive 3. Eat Soup, take Vitamin C 4. Once your healed, you can still love food; just eat less of it. Be smart about choices. 5. Read up on Biotin and certain kinds of shampoo. There's always weave. 5b. This is one of my fears. SO ME TOO! Can someone help both of us with number 5!!!! I hope this helps..... I'm talking to myself and I talk to you because I'm scared too!
