  2. Hi All, My Name is Elena and i am looking for someone who wants to talk or chat about lapband post or pre surgery. i have friends where i live that have had it but everyone is different and i would like to see what other peoples experiances are! ive been banded for 1 and a half years now and its been a steady process of losing weight. send me an email on here and we can get talking!! look forward to speaking to you all
  3. Hey Tracey, 39kg to date that is really good!! i hate magpie breading season. when i was a kid mum painted eyes on the back of my helmet so i wouldnt get swooped lol. they other option i had was waving a stick over my head on the way home from school. good for your arm muscles lol. I eat out quite alot with friends so i tend to go for Entrees. some places they are quite big and other places thier entrees are so small they dont even fill up a lap band patient. i find all my friends and family are quite happy to eat my left overs if i get a main lol. its annoying some times because the dishes on the entree menu arnt that good and there is always something you want more on the mains. i try and go for something that is still healthy and something that cant get stuck (i find beef and pork are really hard for me to digest). Im lucky that i know when to stop before i get the band pain and have to throw up. what about you? Swing dancing lots loads of fun i love that period. i learnt a little bit of it for a few school plays but thats about it. i love all the singer of swing especially ella fitzgerald and frank sinatra (thanks to my nanna) if you want to email me privatly my email is elena343@hotmail.com thanks

    Hello

Hi All, My name is Elena. I had my lap band put in 1.5years ago and i love the new lease on life it has given me. I am slowly losing the weight (16kg up to date) and i have gained a kilo since i started. the lap band has helped me lose some weight and it has made me more confident and happy in life. I am now dating more and not using my weight as an excuse not to see someone. I faced a lot of negativity when i told people about getting the lap band and i still do. I think its unfortunate because they dont understand what the band does for people. Most of the time its not an easy weight loss tool, its something that helps people fight diabetes, get healthier and happier and more confident with in themselves. im no angel when i comes to my diet, im addicted to coke a cola and chips, but everyday im cutting more and more of it out of my diet and i couldnt be happier. YAY for lap band!

    Hello

hi guys, it is so hard to quit coke a cola. every time i try its like giving up smoking (which i also do). i get migranes, i cant sleep, im irritated all the time etc. i tried swapping to diet but for some reason diet products make me constantly want to vomit! i guess the only way it to just cut it out and drink water... but its so flavour and caffineless. ha ha. they say carbonated drinks expand your stomach so you can eventually eat more and more. But alot of people with lapband have recommended having some fizzy drink/pop when your stuck because the bubbles help to bring up excess food or to help you burp up any air that might be stuck under you food. its a whole new world with lap band

    before

these are some photos before my lap band. i was very careful to only have face shots back then so i didnt see my "gross" body so i had to go through my friends photos and find ones that showed me full bodied.

    Results of Lap Band surgery

Hey, I lost 7kg after my surgery and then i became stagnant for a long time. I went to the dietician and she said it was because i was doing the samethings and i needed to mix it up because my body had become used of them. instead of eating the same food every day you should try some different things like tuna salad for lunch and some meat and vege for dinner. and with exercise try and increase your walks to 30mins a day and change the route to include some hills. i know having arthritis in the knees would make it difficult but im sure if you go to a physio im sure they can give you some exercises that reduce the impact on your knees. my mum have knee troubles and she finds swimming and Water arobics good. dont get discouraged and keep trying that day will come soon where it all kicks back into motion and you lose more weight.
  11. Hi All how are you?
