I agree with you! I have already figured this out and I have added exercise to my routine since I had liquid cartlidge put into my arthretic knees, but still no change. I'm a retired RN who has taught nutrition classes and yes I have met with a nutritionist several times. I try to get 60 gms of Protein each day so as not to eat away at my muscles. I come from fat relatives on both sides and they think that my genes have something to do with it. When I was younger I line danced, round danced and walked 10 miles a day at my job and jogged after work. Now since I have gotten older, the arthritis has kicked in, cutting down on all that and I'm sure that is the reason. But I am doing chair exercises and I have a rowing machine which I do 3 times a day.
The reason I got the lap band is because I had tried everything else. I went to MediWeight 2000 and lost 40# over a 7 month period but that was 20 years ago, when I was younger. I paid $13,000.00 out of my own money to get this operation so you can see I was serious and I followed all their rules to the letter. My doctor is puzzled too. Right now I can't even eat anything solid so it's all liquids at this point but I have another appointment with the dr. so he will pull some Fluid out of the pouch as we feel there is something stuck.
Before I had the lap band surgery, I had a tummy tuck, a butt lift and several liposuctions. This lap band was my last resort.
Thanks for the reply. Have you had the surgery yet? If not I can tell you it's a piece of cake. I had no recovery time. There was nothing to it. If you have, how much have you lost and how old are you? I would love to hear from you again.
