  1. Happy 61st Birthday JudyLR!

  3. Happy 60th Birthday JudyLR!

  4. If all this weight loss is just about willpower, why did any of us need the Band? I was banded September 21st this year, and haven't had a piece of bread, a morsel of pasta, a potato chip, anything with sugar. I log all my food, and eat between 600 and 1000 calories a day. I could have done all of this without the band!!!! I don't have any of the signals of being full or a need to throw up. The only difference I see from before the surgery and now, is I have a LOT of GAS!!! I have only lost 9 lbs since the surgery, and have only felt Deprived! You'd think with comsuming only this amount of calories, I would have doubled that weight loss. I don't Get it!

    Post-0p Weight Gain

Thanks so much for your encouraging words. I'm in there for the long haul. Good Luck to you!
  6. I had my surgery on 9/21. I also had some hernia repair, so I was in bed until Sunday, drinking my fluids like a Good Girl. Monday I weighed myself, and lo and behold, I lost 12 lbs! Needless to say I was thrilled. So, since Monday I've been up and around as usual, feeling great. Today I stepped on the scale, and I GAINED BACK 3lbs. How can this happen on a fluids only diet of about 500 to 600 calories a day? Has anyone else experienced this? I just keep thinking that what happens if this lapband thing doesn't work any better than my eating plans in the past. Help, I need some encouragement. Thanks, Judy
  7. Had surgery 9/21. Am doing GREAT! Lost 12 lbs so far. Only problem experienced is shortness of breath, which may be caused by the Hernia repair they did at the time of surgery.

  8. Had my surgery on 9/21, and they also had to do a hiatal hernia repair. Everything seems to be going fine, except that I keep getting short of breath. Has anyone experienced this?

    Broth.....ick ?

They told me at the Doctor's office that I could buy chicken noodle soup and strain out all the chunks, and eat the broth! Much better!!!!
  10. Two more days, and I'm having a bit of anxiety. I keep wondering how the heck am I going to keep on a liquid diet for two weeks! I've never been able to stick to one for more than two days in the past, why am I going to be able to now? Don't you miss chewing on something?
