I am pleased to announce that I am scheduled to have my VSG done on 9/19/11 9/12/11!! This is when my new and healthier life begins and I can not wait.

I went back and forth about having surgery over the past few years. My first orientation was in June 2010. At that point, I still had doubts about whether I wanted to take this route. Six months later, I decided to get serious and take steps toward making a final decision. I found a new doctor that was covered under my insurance and started my monthly primary doctor visits. It’s been a long journey.

I as approved for surgery by GHI on 8/10/11!

I initially wanted to get the gastric banding aka Lapband procedure but my doctor advised against it. He mentioned the low success rate and complications. Granted, VSG can lead to complications, as can any other surgery, but after much research and talking to myself (lol), I am secure with my decision to have the gastric sleeve done.

I hope to meet some great people on this site.
