About Me

  • Gender
    Female
I have been overweight my entire life with a history of yo-you dieting.  Each time I would lose weight, I would gain it back, plus some to the point where I found myself in bed for 8 years with no desire to participate in life.  I have asthma, degenerative joint disease, chronic fatigue syndrome, Epstein-Barre Virus, back and knee problems, ADD and depression.  I was sick and tired of being sick and tired.  When my mother died, I felt  like I my life was over because I was not in my 50s.
I don't know exactly what prompted me, but I just had enough and decided to start fixing me.   Weight loss was a logical start..... I had investigated WLS two previous times, but things weren't right.  Dr. Ahmad has been my angel.  The most amazing man I've ever met.  Just incredible.  I love him.  I had a bit of a slow start because I had a large hernia, which gave delayed filling my band for a couple of months and then I had two more months without fluid in my band due to a serious ear operation, but I am back on track and able to work on finding my green zone for maximum benefit of the band.  Still working on the exercise part, but it's a process and I'm going step by step, day by day.  Physical therapy is my first step into movement.
