So Upset - Lap Band Port Flipped!
Mom2twinboys1515 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my first fill at the end of oct and had 3 ml's put in and I had some complications with the doc getting fluid to go from my port to my band. They thought I had received a bad band, but thankfully everything worked out just fine. I just went for my second fill and my port flipped. I'm do upset right now. The radiologist tried so hard to flip it with no sucess. Im seeing my surgeon on Monday. So my question is what happens now? I'm terrified to go back under general anesthesia. Has anyone had this experience? What happens???? -
So Upset - Lap Band Port Flipped!

Thank you both for your kind words. I had such a mindset of being on the path to weight loss (because I have no restriction from my last full) it just literally broke my heart when I was told my band flipped. -
I feel perfect now it was all emotional! No pain at all...even the numbing shot wasn't painful. I'm just happy my radiologist kept trying and didn't give up!

I just had my first fill today and it was dramatic! It didn't hurt at all, but I was poked with 6 different needles because they could not get the saline to go through my port. It was like something was blocking it. The radiologist has been doing fills an working with lap band patients for 10 years and had never seen anything like it. After calling my surgeon, who had also never experienced this problem, they had no answer for me. The radiologist said he was going to try one more time (mind you this is 2.5 hours into dilemma), he had me change positions onto my back and it was like magic....the saline finally started going through! I was in tears thinking I just went through the surgery, liquid diet, life changing experience for nothing! It was horrible emotionally. Buy, thank goodness it all worked out.

29 miles down! I love this challenge! It gives me something positive to aim for while awaiting my first fill.

Hey everyone! I was banded on 9/15. I've been counting my miles, but this is my first post. I'm 21 miles down, 39 to go. I really hope I can do all 60 miles. This is the first goal I'm setting for myself. Good luck to everyone!
