what in the world is going on???
meggspeggs posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For the last week or so I have been HUNGRY HUNGRY HUNGRY ALL THE TIME!!! I feel like I could eat and eat. Also for the past two weeks I have been gaining and losing and gaining the same 1-2 pounds up and down....Geez I'm so frustrated! -
I am so frustrated with my lack of weight loss. I had my 6 week check up today and I'm only down twenty pounds since sugery. I have two friends that had the surgery. One a week and a half before me and she's down forty. Another that had it three weeks after me and she's down thirty. I lost 15 in my two week preop diet. I should of just continued with that. It just makes me want to cry. Ugh....I just needed to vent.

I am craving salt. I know my body must need a little. I grabbed a few potato chips (I know, bad choice! But I was desperate!), but am looking for a healthier option. Seems like my diet is filled with sweet stuff these days. Protein shakes, yogurt, pudding....How can I get a little salt in?

Remembering to eat slowly? It never fails...I'm eating thinking I'm doing great then BAM I'M SO FULL IT HURTS!!! I know this would improve if I could get myself in the habit of going slowly. Any tips?

Soreness, Swelling
meggspeggs replied to Weightloss Bliss's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes! All of my pain was on the left. It was where my largest incision was. Where they pulled out the excess stomach. It lasted around 2 weeks. But did improve slowly each day. -
How Soon Were You Back To Work?
meggspeggs replied to Tai29's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm a nurse on a busy floor. 3 weeks. -
No he didn't. I go see him next week and will check then. I feel like its better to get the gummy ones in than to throw up the others

I had elbow surgery some years ago and my scar is also numb. It is common as some of the nerves have been cut. I am a labor and delivery nurse, and c section moms often report that their scars and surrounding area is numb and remains so even after healing.

I was given a calorie and protein recommendation, but never one for carbs. I would love to hear what others are doing and what they have found that takes the most weight off!

I use the adult gummy ones from Costco. I was using bariatric choice chewables but they make me sick. My gummy ones are delicious

I am one month out and have only lost 10 pounds. I lost more on my two week preop diet. I just don't understand. How can I be eating so little and only lose 10 pounds???? I am getting all my water and protein. Starting to wonder if I'm just destined to be fat.....

meggspeggs replied to x4achange's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am a month out and still feel it. I was told it was swelling in the esophagus from surgery. Try a popsicle to reduce swelling. -

meggspeggs replied to loveshackdeb's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do not remove them. You can trim the ragged edges. But your Dr. Will take them off. -

The first couple weeks are brutal. It does get better. I am four weeks out and feel 100% better. Hydration and some calories made a huge difference in how I felt. Hang in there. -
