Would you sleeve again?
meggspeggs replied to Ellie4me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
ELLIE you are very welcome. I wish that someone would have said that to me before surgery. All I got were the butterflys and rainbows about it! I think if someone would have mentioned to me that there may be some guilt or buyers remorse after choosing to remove a part of my body, I would have thought a little differently about it. It terrifies me knowing that for the rest of my life I am going to have to worry about side effects of taking out most of my stomach. But like I said, there is a flip side. How likely was I to develop Diabetes, hypertension, coronary artery disease if I had not had this surgery.....VERY LIKELY!!!! Which in turn would of led to a shortened life. I pray daily for the thousands of us sleevers that God keep us safe and free from harm after making this choice to alter our bodies. -
Same her DoOver. I thought that a 1/2 of the lowfat cone would be a good option for me because I was having such a hard time getting my calories in. I am also still having pain when I drink so I thought it might be a bit soothing. I do regret the carmel, probably shouldn't have done that. However, I had two small bites of the carmel and could tell it wasn't for me. I did however eat 1/2 of the ice cream. It's not like I went out and ordered an XXL tripple topping boat of ice cream sundae . It was 1/2 of a lowfat vanilla cone. I have no regrets about eating it. And as I stated before, it's not one sundae that got me fat. Thanks for your understanding outlook on my post. You are why I love this site

Would you sleeve again?
meggspeggs replied to Ellie4me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In all honesty, at this point, no. But let me explain. I am a total hypochondriac. I am not wracked with anxiety about the long run. I am angry at myself for taking such a drastic measure as taking out part of my body. But with that being said, I have no doubt in my mind that I wouldn't have shed the 100+ pounds on my own. It saddens me that I did not have enough will power to do it on my own. But on the other hand I know that this surgery probably saved my life. Heart disease, diabetes, immobility did not appeal to me. I am a RN and see the effects of obesity daily. They scare me to death. Now ask me in 6 months and my anwer will likely have changed. I have heard nothing but praise about this procedure from patients and doctors. Good luck on your journey, and feel free to message me if you evern need to chant. xoxoxoxoxoxxlo -

Congratulations and good luck!!!!! -
To those of you that are offended by my question....if you don't like it, its simple.....just don't answer. I do not Have the time or desire to nit pick with you about a question. I'm done with that. We are all grown ups, and this is beyond ridiculous. For those that gave me an honest opinion without the superior attitude, I thank you. This is the second time in days That I have seen squabbles on this board. Oddly the other one included the same people. I'm here looking for advice. This is the first time I've had had this done. I am looking for sound advice (not put Downs) of others that have gone before me. I value those of You that Have been kind. I will continue to come to this board because they're are some really great and helpful individuals here. I refuse to get sucked in to childish computer bullying.

Me too!!!!!!! -
I did get a post op guideline. It didn't mention smoothies though. I can't have peanut butter yet either.
-
Goodness people. Kelly thank You for your advice. I will have to try that a little bit later out. And Texas, I'm more than a week out. 15 days=2 weeks and 1 day. I hope they're not letting You teach children lol....

Gregin I did not come here to be chastised. I merely asked a question. I am struggling to get my calories in. I thought this might help me. I am not slipping back into old ways. And personally I didn't get fat from eating one sundae. So please, if you can't give me words of advise, don't respond to my posts. I come here for support, courage and strength. Not shame.

meggspeggs replied to MsRobotRock's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Same problem here. I even took ativan tonight to try to get dome zzzzzz's. Apparently that isn't going to work either. I guess it'd back to melatonin for me too. -

I am considering that too. I will be discussing it with my NUT. -
I'm 12 days post op. I am suffering some major buyers remorse, anxiety and depression. All I want to do is stay in my house and sleep. I cry when my husband leaves for work and am on edge. I am having a hard time getting all my fluids in. I saw my PCP yesterday who recommended I see a therapist. However I can't get into the therapist until the 26th. I'm in this awful rut and I hate it. Any advice would be appreciated.

Difficulty swallowing pills
meggspeggs replied to ava2011's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I do! I'm only two weeks out, but man Its hard. I can only do one at a time. And they sit there and feel heavy. They fill me up. I'm a nurse and always tease my patients that they take so many pills they don't need a meal. Well seems that is true for us! I started my vitamins today and my tummy is not happy!!! I am having some pain. Wish I had some great advice for you. But all I can say is take it slow like I do. Best wishes -
I started my vitamins today. A while after I took My iron my stomach started to hurt. Kind of a crampy feeling. Has anyone else experienced this?

meggspeggs posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have my 2 week check up tomorrow and am hoping to be promoted to mushies. What should I pick up at the store? Favorite mushies? -
Do you all eat it or do you think its too acidic for our healing tummies?
-
Between mushies and soft food? Just curious.
