Sugar Free vanilla pudding sits okay with my sleevey. Not much else has since having it done on 8/26. Give it a try. Maybe it will work for you too. -

PCOS patients I need your help
meggspeggs replied to ellemarie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I quit taking my metformin for my PCOS prior to surgery. I was afraid that it would dump my blood sugar too drastically. It did before the sleeve, so I was worried about what it would do once I was taking in to little food. You are never supposed to crush or break extended release pills. My advice would be to go back to the regular non extended release, and crush them and put them in apple sauce. I hope you find your answer soon. -

SLEEVE 4 ME you were the person I was looking for when I originally posted that! Your answer would have been perfect. Just to know that someone else out there tried it. That is what I was looking for LOL....

Yes TempChange, actually the icecream wasn't that appealing to me either. I was just weak and desperate for something I knew would give me some fat and sugar. I was really tired of feeling so yuck. I aggree, we are all here to support each other. I wasn't looking for someone to tell me IF I should eat it, I was looking for advice on how ice cream might sit at two weeks out. I'm not dumb. I KNOW that ice cream isn't a good nutritional choice LOL. I deserve a bit more credit than that I think. But what's done is done. I am glad that we have this great community to bounce ideas off each other. Thanks!

Things I can't wait to do!
meggspeggs replied to Fusilli66's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can't wait to feel confident in a swimming suit. Totally feeling the sexy panty thing too. Shopping in the regular section will be fabulous. I love the one about not having to pay the extra $ for plus size scrubs!!!! So many things we have been missing out on! -
Yes Tiff, it totally got blown out of proportion. Oh well, life goes on. Thanks for the advice.

Hahaha Thanks! I am an RN and knew my body needed the power at the time. I got jumped on like I at a gallon of double fudge brownie ooey gooey something or other. For pete's sake, it was half of a low fat vanilla cone. I wasn't asking if it was "okay" to search for approval. I simply wanted to know if others thought it would be too heavy for my two week out tummy. I didn't need the spiel of bad choices blah blah blah. LOL. Oh well, it is what it is. Thanks for being so kind. We are in this thing together, and I'm glad I have someone like you! :-)

As I type I am choking down my BariatricChoice vitamins. I don't think I can do another day of this. I am looking for a chewy gummy bearish sort of vitamin that is still high in quality. What do you use? And what have you found to be the most tolerable?

Thanks all!!!! -
Actually the pain wasn't to bad. Do You have a pain pump at this point? I did the first day, and They took it away on day 2. I actually found that the oral pain medication worked better for me The trick is to stay on top of your pain. Don't let it get excruciating before you ask for medication. Walking helps too. You wont get so stiff. Good luck

Its over. Please don't try to rehash what is done. Thank You.

I am 16 days out. It still hurts if I take too big a gulp of anything. How will I ever be able to get food to go through there comfortably? Do any of you hurt If you accidentally take a big gulp of fluid? -
Yes, an alternative would have been great. That's why I use this board. Thanks!

I don't know. Its like this....sip, wait, ouch! Mine hurts just above my belly button. I told my MD about It at my 2 week check up. He recommended 1-2 more weeks of liquid. I wish it would go away. It makes me nervous about getting a leak. Hope you feel better soon. -
Would you sleeve again?
meggspeggs replied to Ellie4me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Tiger Lily I was sleeved one day after you. You put into words exactly how I feel. I pray That one day soon we will feel better about all of this. My PCP gave me comfort with some of his advice. He said, "Megan you did the best thing for yourself that you could of. Though you don't have any other comorbidities at this time, they would come. And THAT would have shortened your life. You would have died at 50 or 60." This man has been my Dr since birth. He is overly cautious. I know he wouldn't have said that if he really didn't believe it. I also cryed to my bariatric surgeon. He Aldo assured me that this surgery has been around since the 60's. It is just recently that surgeons decided to see what would happen if they didn't convert it to RY. Low and behold it worked and they no longer had to put their patients through a second surgery. He assured me that I will live a long life. I hope this gives you comfort. I know how the anxiety and anger hurt. Message me anytime if you just want to talk. Xoxoxo -
