Wow justplay, you are a life saver, I got my band nearly 8 mths ago, at first I lost nearly 14lbs and have put it all back plus some. I have lupus and sjergens syndrome and have been very sick with it, I also have stopped smoking. I have had 3 fills since August about 4 or 5. I have some restriction but not much. Your post had given me hope because I was getting depressed. I live in Ireland and got my band done in Belgium. I am due to get my next fill Thursday wk. I felt such a failure, but now as I said you have given me hope. Many thanks Jackie

Thanks for replying, thanks kbliss for your advice, unfortunately I can't call my doctor to get the full sooner, as I live in Ireland and got my band done in Belgium and they will be back over here on the 5 th April. I will chat to them when I see them, but they are doctors not a support group. Harlem you only got your band done in feb, give yourself time, I got mine done last August. Hi I got the lap band last August, I got 3 fills so far, with little to no restrictions, I'm due my next fill, Thursday wk. I suffer from, depression, lupus and sjergens and have been sick for months. At the beginning I was doing great and lost 14lbs approx, I have put up the weight plus some more. I am devastated I feel I'm struggling with everything and can't get motivated. I have 4.5 so far. Someone told me that it could take up to 5 fills before you really lose weight. I know I have to excerise and keep to a good diet. Sorry for moaning I just have no one to really talk too. Thanks Jackie

Hi my name is Jackie and i live in Ireland . I got the gastric band done 9 wks ago and was delighted with myself. I got my first fill 4 wks ago and has lost around 14lbs. I am due my next fill in 2 wks. My problem is I am beginning to put up weight again and am devastated, I am craving sugary stuff all the time. I know the gastric band is only a tool to help me lose weight and is not a magic solution. I have lupus and sjorgen's syndrome and have been very sick for the last 2/3wks. I suppose I am just looking to chat to someone who struggled big time at the beginning. Sorry for moaning I really want to lose weight, but am struggling at the moment.

Hi I had the gastric band done 3 wks ago. I found the operation quite difficult. I live in Dublin Ireland there are no support groups here. It's taken me 3 wks just recovering. I have lupus and sjerogens syndrome so I don't know if the tiredness is to do with my illness or the operation. I have lost only 10lbs but feel constanty hungery. I am due to get my first fill in the next 2 wks. I am so worried that it won't work. When you get the first fill, will you eat less? I have no one to talk about my worries. Any bit of advise would be great. Many thank spring
