I used to watch food network...Iron Chef, Cake Boss, Cup Cake Wars...BUT NOT ANYMORE!!!! I am to weak and do not want to be tempted. I was banded 08/22/11 and going on 3rd week. Okay i was banded 8/22/11. Things have progress well as far as i can tell. But after yesterday, after i moved a full sized bed to clean behind it and do light house keeping preparing for company, i have felt a sometimes sharp pain. At other times its a burning pain. Albeit brief it hurts almost like it did the first two day out of surgery. Is this just HEALing pain? Or do ya'll think i mucked up my band. Please be advised I had a had a lap band placed with the added feature call a "Spider" technique. This is a process where there are extra stitching of the band to the stomach of some sort. Any advise or comments would be welcomed. I am making sure to stay down w/ little activity to see if things get better. It's so sore at times. Ouch !!!And I hate that liquid hydrocodone ick!!!!!!

So do you think it will get better? how long have you had your lap band? is this normal ? will the port be okay? i have my first fill on 9/19/11.... thanks for the comments!

My friend's band slipped. It was due to her eating any and everything she wanted thinking the band was a magic wand. She said at first she would vomit a small amount of food immediately after eating. Then she felt pressure in her chest even when drinking liquids. Eventually she reported she could hardly breathe and had to have immediate surgery for removal of the band. So that is her story. Does not sound like you have the same issues. Good Luck !

I dream abt eating food and especially deserts! CARAMEL, chocolate, PECANS.... So when i want to eat and not gain weight I brush my teeth ( that takes the urge to eat away for me cuz i love the feel of fresh breath) and then either get into an activity or go to sleep if it is bed time so I can eat alllllllllll i want in my dreams.... hi all SueZQ here! Banded 8/22/11. Started out 229.3 and at 215 to date!!! No fill until 9/19 but it's rt around the corner ....I am a bit SCARED ....but looking forward to the restriction.. QUESTION: I am going on day 18. Doing great. feel like normal until today!!! HELP I keep getting pains where my port is. Albeit brief they are intense sharp pains. Is this part of the healing process? is anyone else experiencing any pains like this? No fever and I am not eating wrongly. I might have gotten too zealous in cleaning house, planting fall mums, and bending over to clean hot tub. Should I be concerned???? TYTYTY for all responses.... Hugs!! SZQ

I live 3 hours from my surgeon. Wish i could get my fills done closer to me. How do I go about getting that done. Anyone out there ever do this? How much does each fill cost? Currently my fills are "FREE" for 1 yr (I paid for them in a lump sum when i got my surgery ).

Well let me tell you........I was told the same thing by my doc. Liquids for 2 weeks pre-op, liquids 2 weeks post op, and puree 2 weeks after that, then gradual solids on week 5. I am not ashamed to say I did stay on liquids until my 6th day post op. Then introduced my self to apple sauce. I am on my 9th day post op and am drinking Protein shakes, and had 5 cheezit crackers with my Soup. I have not gotten sick and my band has not slipped. I am not starving anymore nor am i gorging myself. I know i am taking a risk but i was feeling faint. NOW I feel so much better. There you have it.....I know some would Condemn me for this but it was my choice and i am still losing weight. 13lbs in 8 days. My first fill is not till 9/19/11. Good luck! God Bless.

So glad all is well and ur doing fine. I just wish i could find a support group to meet w close to me. i am sched. for 1st fill 9/19. I watched Youtube videos and it looks horrible. Hope i can do it. Cheers!!! Susan Q

I am !!! I was banded 8/22/11 13 lbs gone!!! getting concerned. I seem to be eating more since the soreness of the surgery has resided. Susan Q here from TX. 229.3 at surgery date. Need to lose 80lbs. I am 52yrs.
