Question About Post Lap Band Surgery Eating
Court12 posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had the surgery on the 20th (so 3 days ago), I was told that I am now able to move from a clear liquid to a cream soup, or juices stuff like that. I am finding that I am hungry so I make some soup I get about 5 bites down before I start to feel sort of sick to my belly so I stop eating and put it away then an hr later I am hungry again becuase I didnt really eat anything but once again if I take a few bites I feel sick. Is this normal or should I be concerned? If this is supposed to happen how long does it usually last? Thanks so much for your help....Courtney -

I am 3 days out of surgery and I feel great! The second day was tough but today is a great day of me, I am excited to start my new journey, but I do have one concern that I didnt realize until I started reading some of the other blogs. Some people are saying that the fills make them feel horrible, and I just wanted to know what I should expect when I get my first fill. Thanks so much =)

Question About Post Lap Band Surgery Eating
Court12 replied to Court12's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Shellie, My docotor wanted atleast a week of just liquids but I decided last night that I was going to try a few scoops of a greek yogurt thinking maybe the pains I was having was from being hungry and sure enough the pain went away, The soups were only helping my hunger for like a half hr, the yogurt helped for hours and I only ate a little of it. Im glad to know that you also are eating yogurts and pudding it makes me feel better about eating that yogurt last night lol. How is it going watching everyone else eat for the holidays, I know that has been hard for me but I have been very strong about it! -
I dont even know if im posting this right but here goes, I have been heavy my whole life and through out I have lost 80 gained 80 lost 50 gained 50 and so on. I am currently 27 and wiegh 230ish. I know my bmi is over 40 and so now I am looking into this surgery. I really would like to try but I guess my questions are, How is the recovery? Do you get sick often from eating, (I heard sometime you vomit because of what you eat or because it cant be swallowed.) How supportive are your friends? Thanks so much for your time and honestly I dont know if my insurance will cover this where I am right on the BMI line according to my doctor but i'd much rather have some answers before I get the yes or no. =)

It was good to read all of the struggles everyone else is having, I had the surgery on the 20th and the next day was hard, the second day afte got alittle easier, today is ok im walking around with little pain, im having a problem when I try to eat my belly starts to hurt and I would love for that to go away lol, I was also sad and second guessing my decision on the surgery, but I think its all because we are in that really hard few weeks right now. I hope you feel better soon, you have taken the biggest step now its just healing and learning =) -

Question About Post Lap Band Surgery Eating
Court12 replied to Court12's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Ok ill go back to the clear, the nutritionist and hospital doctors where the ones that told me I could have thicker soups on friday, I am not vomitting but it does bother me alittle bit and makes me not want to eat it, but then again I am hungry and the hunger pains are pretty bad too. ive been trying to go super slow, take a sip and put it down for a few minutes and then take another. -
That was one of the hardest parts before surgery, clear liquids for 2 weeks made me cranky lol, I managed to do it losing 15 lbs in the process! I kept telling myself i can have creamy soups after surgery and that kept me going, Holidays are the worst, I just had my surgery 3 days ago and the parties and gifts in those 2 weeks of liquid diet was really tough, it'll will all be worth it not only once u get the band but once u step on that scale before surgery and you see how much you have lost. =)

Very back and fourth..Help?
Court12 replied to Court12's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thanks for all the help guys! All that info helped alot, I decided to go with the surgery, I am now 3 days post op and I feel good, the second day was tough but today I feel great =) -
I also got the surgery on the 20th, the first day in the hospital I was fine and they actually let me go home without staying over night, when I woke up on day 2 I was miserable, I was in alot of pain and very nauseous, I fought my way through that and today I am 3 days out and I feel great, I have stopped taking the pain meds and though there is still pain it is not something I cant manage. I also noticed that I do not feel like I need to pee often though I am still drinking alot of water, and It is forced when I do go, but today that problem seems to be better, it is not as forced. I hope now that you are also three days out you are starting to feel better like me, But if you need anything let me know, I know im in the same boat time wise so I may not be able to help as much as someone that had it for a while but i will try. =) feel better!!
